Abu Gharib is a mere 8 miles from the runway perimeter, while the distance from BGW to the US Embassy in Baghdad's Green Zone is roughly 9.5 miles. The Washington Times reported earlier this summer that ISIS captured upwards of 52 American made M198mm howitzer heavy artillery pieces, capable of hitting targets 14-20 miles away.
The captured M198's reportedly cost $500,000 per piece. To add insult to injury, the Islamists have also seized 1,500 up-armored Humvees which cost the American taxpayer $220,000 each.

Saigon embassy evacuation moment coming?
I never did quite understand how they were getting all these weapons. I believe they’ve gotten some from Libya too. They have a lot of cash so I am sure they continue to buy a lot more.
Maybe we should put some of these on the vehicles next time?

I mean this sort of jokingly. I wish the weapons couldn’t be used against us.
Maybe something to secretly track them or make them inoperable will be available one day.
The end results of utter strategic stupidity.
It happens when your president is a traitorous fool who withdraws troops prematurely.
Paved paradise.....put up a parking lot.
Emergency evacuation? This administration doesn't do that.
And after he wrote down those words, all politicians and MSM members conveniently ignored them so that they do not have to ask the question whose side the POTUS is on.
What if all his policies are directed to favor ISIS an no one is sounding the alarm?
...to leave us impotent against domestic terrorism.
Ask Franken if his body guards are armed and why his life should be of greater value than ours.
But, but Obola promised we wouldn’t be doing this! Everything I knew about the One is a lie! /s
>Iraqis may go down as the most inept military in history.<
.
They were not that inept when they were led by a guy with the name of Saddam Hussein.
Yes, we beat them, but we must not forget that they did not have an Air Force.
Oh we care. There is no reason to get agitated. I don’t want this government sending our troops into harms way. The government is lead by evil fools and I don’t want our men fighting for these idiots. Hell the ROEs under Bush were bad enough.
It is worth than that. ISIS will turn those weapons against the folks we have there now.
Grrrrr! doesn’t quite cover the feelings I have right now, I lost a little blood in 71, some of my friends lost their lives only to watch it all turn to chit. Now I have to watch much younger troops go through the same damn thing! Anger, heart break and disgust!
Around 2005 my secretary’s son knocked on my office door and asked to come in, he’s worked summers for me for the last 2 years. The look on his face told me it was serious so I told him to shut the door and sit down. He looked at the walls in my office where I have quite a collection of memorabilia from the 101st Airborne, then told me he wanted to join the Army. I had already planned on putting him on full time after high school but I could see in his eyes he had already made his decision. I told him lets take a ride and we stopped by Sonic and grabbed some burgers and headed to the ranch.
To be honest I tried to talk him out of it but he was determined so I gave him my full blessing and was at the airport when he shipped of to boot camp standing beside his mother. He made it into the 101st and came by the office before his deployment to Afghanistan. We went and got a burger and took another ride on the ranch. My war was a much different war than what he was walking into yet they were still the same if that makes any sense. I shared stories I’d never told anybody other than my wife in hopes it would keep him alive.
6 months later his Mom came into my office in tears, Justin had been killed by an IED along with 2 others. The funeral was amazing the road to the cemetery was lined with local’s as I rode with his mother in the front vehicle. 21 guns TAPS and a slow ride back to the funeral home. I went directly to my office after that and took down all my memorabilia.
Touching story. And, sadly, fairly common. I loved my military service, but I was lucky enough to have smooth sailing until the very end of it.
People thought I was nuts to join when I did, but I needed a job (Thanks, Carter!) and $ for an education. I KNOW that’s how it is for kids, today. Less options, that’s for sure.
The Howitzers will make a nice target from the air, such a shame, 500k a pop.
We can come up with many reasons for joining but you can’t leave out the one and most important one, we chose to serve and protect the United States of America. Thank You!
They know what they’re trying to do, and they know how to do it.

The last time the Iraqi armed forces were effective at anything but brutalizing its own people, that country was called Babylonia.
Obola wants the Sunni Muslims to win.
You are correct. I wonder how they will react to ISIS photos of the US Ambassador or his staff member being beheaded after they overrun the Embassy?
