SKOPJE, Oct 9 (Reuters) - A British man with symptoms of the Ebola virus died in Macedonia on Thursday and authorities said they had sealed off a hotel where he stayed, keeping another Briton and hotel staff inside.
A Health Ministry official said the man had arrived in the capital, Skopje, from Britain on Oct. 2 and had been rushed to hospital at 3 p.m. (1300 GMT) on Thursday, where he died several hours later.

Macedonia is part of the old Yugoslavia.
Or perhaps like Buffalo identifying itself as a New York City? I’m sure that Alexander did rule the area, and I’d guess that King Philip did as well, so it isn’t as much of a stretch as your York example.
At any rate, things are about to get somewhat more nasty—hopefully not really really nasty.
"Kostovska said there was no indication the man, who had been in Macedonia about a week, had recently been to Africa..."
If true, very interesting.
Alas, I knew him well.
Don’t they know, that according to the CDC, sealing off the hotel will only make the Ebola worse!
Glad I was not the only one that noticed their convoluted logic.
The Liberian who arrived in Dallas wasn’t on a direct flight to DFW airport. There are only a few international airports that receive flights from Africa, so those are the ones they are screening people for fevers.
However, this doesn’t catch people who take fever reducers or whose illness is so early that they don’t have a fever.
Nor does it catch people whose itinerary goes through different airports.

Quick, send them Jesse.
The US that already has Ebola/Øbola? Perhaps the first world needs to keep out flights from the the newly-Turd world nation of the US...
because nobody lies in Wikipedia entries (/s)
the USA just became the life raft of the entire planet. The dying will capsize the boat out of desperation while the rest of the world “does what it takes” to get the job done.
The official story now seems to be that if you, for instance, are a man with Ebola and you cut yourself shaving or in some other way and leave a tiny drop of blood on a surface the virus can survive for several days at room temperature in that blood drop. NOT an encouraging thing to read. If someone sneezes or coughs there may be tiny blood droplets in that.
I was listening to Rush this morning and he said he learned for those men who survive Ebola the virus will be in their sperm for up to nine months.
Joe - please add me to the ping list!
Please add me to the Ping List also. Thanks.
British...
White family in England back to William the Conqueror...
or immigrant from Liberia/Africa etc with family neighbors just arrived in the last month from Ebola Country ???
if its the last then its not a mystery how he got Ebola..
British doesn’t mean what we tend to think it means any more...
they do go to Belgium..
to fly directly to the US from Liberia “non-stop” you go through Brussels..
and they could always buy a ticket to Europe and another ticket to the US so that their starting airport doesn’t read as LIBERIA..
there seems to be lots of air fare available for these “poor” folk from Ebola Country..
Tom Duncan was just “a poor man” but he managed to come up with $1,000 to buy his ticket to Dallas...
As an aside, saw a commercial yesterday for Macedonia on BBC yesterday. Offer 10 year tax free enterprise areas to attract business and investment....
