CBSLA.comFellow libertarians, we may be observing peak bureaucratic cruelty in Santa Fe Springs, California. City officials told Jessica Torres and Felix Miranda to destroy their backyard playseta gift to their handicapped 10-year-old daughter from the Make-A-Wish-Foundationbecause it is a "public nuisance," according to CBSLA.com.
Young Tiffany suffers from seizures and can't play at the public park, so the Make-A-Wish-Foundation gifted her a personal playground. It sits in her backyard, on Miranda family property. Nevertheless, the city thinks it has the right to force the family to disassemble the playset. When Torres approached a city official, she was treated as courteously as would be expected by anyone else who has ever gone up against the tyranny of local government. According to CBSLA.com:
When I asked the city, So where do you expect my daughter to play? they said Well, the citys not responsible for your daughters disability,' Torres said. They said Your Tiffany is not our problem.'
The city's rationale for ruining a little girl's happiness is that the playground area is cluttered and dangerous. Local reporters called shenanigans on that verdict:
But Torres, whos an oncology charge nurse at Beverly Hospital in Montebello, showed CBS2/KCAL9 reporter Adrianna Weingold the backyard, front yard and the inside of the familys home and things looked relatively neat and tidy.
Torres showed Weingold some of the tickets the citys issued, calling on the family to remove all items from the backyard and front yard, including all playground equipment.
After Weingold approached city officials, they changed their story. Now it's perfectly fine to keep the personal playground up and running, they saiddespite what is explicitly printed on the numerous tickets the Mirandas received for hosting unauthorized fun in the privacy of their own backyard.

Public nuisance? The public is not allowed in my backyard.
I think I know what the real issue was here.
Maybe didn’t pay an exhorbitant fee(building permit)to build it.
Some neighbor obviously kept turning her in.
Do, what are the King’s reps going to to do about their deer eating, pooping and peeing in my backyard?

The mental contortions required to blame constitutionalists and libertarians for something because they oppose it are in a way fascinating, but still dumb as a stump.
I*’ll stipulate that my dog loves the stimulus...
Does mommy know you are on her computer?
Well, you sure told us, cherry. We’ll be sure to vote for the
GOP-e candidate, and that’s sure to straighten California out.
It has been said that if you fail the mental exam to be a cop, then try for a slot in code enforcement, no gun, but you get to write chicken crap tickets.
Go see if your rock is lonely. then crawl back under it Romneybot.
It has to be about those nasty evil swings!

I wish I hadn’t voted for McCain or Romney so that I could post to you that I didn’t vote for McCain or Romney.
Someone alert Melissa Harris-Perry - the gummint said the kid wasn't their problem.
See? Nothing ever good comes from voting for liberal Republicans ;)
These issues are seldom about left vs. right or Democrat vs. Republican.
Stop turning everything into a life or death struggle between the American Way and Communism. You'll live a much longer and happier life.
