3. Personal protective equipment and procedures
The following PPE should be available for use by personnel providing direct care to the patient or with potential exposure to the patients body fluids, such as during cleaning:
Fit-tested, disposable respirators (at least as protective as fit-tested NIOSH-certified disposable N95 filtering face piece respirators), for use during aerosol-generating procedures if needed.

Interesting.
You’re one of the only guys around here whose opinion I wouldn’t question.
Tell me more sometime.
Sigh. I am not trying to argue with you. Yes, those are airborne. I was using the term in a specific technical way relevant to infectious pathogens. Namely, a virus may be said to go “airborne” when it is transmissible through the air all by itself. It’s another way of saying, “Oh sh!t!”
Sometimes “airborne” also applies to this type of transmission.
We have a few N95’s in our survival gear but yesterday we went to CVS and picked up a box of Curad antiviral facemasks and a box of 20 pairs of exam gloves. The facemasks are supposed to stop swine flu and bird flu so hopefully Ebola also. We just got this stuff because in the event that an outbreak really happens you will not be able to get this stuff. It will be gone off the shelves in a few hours.
Mr. GG2 is dabbling in the essential oils and he is going to prepare a combo that you put on the facemask and its supposed to kill anything and everything.
Never heard of an N85.
I have boxes of N95’s...
I meant an N95. Sorry for the typo.
I just purchased some N100s
It does not hurt to be prepared.
I just ordered some 100s/ already had the others.
The woman on the phone said they were getting in a lot of calls already this morning (their time). boss safety (one word .com)
Oh, wuz confuzed...
thnx
Still have the same opinions...no reasons to change.
You can continue to mischaracterize my opinions as you have done. That is what you have chosen to do, but I frankly don’t give a hoot.
Carry on!
One thing that I've noticed is an increase in commenters, across the Web, who troll with the "Inner Party" meme. It may sound like tinfoil nonsense, however, I've seen a good many ham handed attempts, lately, to manipulate the narrative toward an Obama approved lie.
I suspect a SEIU employed Journalism grad with a list of PC noms de plume and a quota of steering comments.
One 'tell' you see is that, unlike most others, an Obama troll seldom gets confused about the "to, too, two" usage mistake. People who do not, as a rule, comment, make this error consistently.
Why should FR be immune? I'd bet on the LEO "Thin Blue Line" types as actually being Alinski True Believers, based on their conviction that conservatives are too narrowly law abiding to question a cop's motives.
It does. You have to balance risks.
right on rock, airborne for days and fully infective for same
the folks at CDC are clueless and always have been.
I’ll stick with the guys at USAMRIID who are saying no way! no way! no way!
Lurking’
I would hope the CDC would be honest with the American people, but since it’s a part of the Obama administration, I’m a bit dubious.
Hopefully not the wearer.
2nd Ebola case in TX now... breaking news.... Apparently someone in contact with Duncan...
my point exactly. F’ing Doktors. I don’t trust any of them.
With that theory then respirator filters should never need changing no?
absolutely! And you breathe in those expelled Ebola particles and BOOM, you now have Ebola too!
I still have tons of swimming googles from the kid’s swimming days. I don’t know how well they would do with fogging, etc. Ski and safety goggles have the little air holes in them. Good to keep them from fogging, not so could if a splatter makes it in one of them.
