While Turkish troops watched the fighting in Kobani through a chicken-wire fence, Turkeys president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that the town was about to fall and Kurdish fighters warned of an impending blood bath if they were not reinforced fears the United States shares.
But Mr. Erdogan said Tuesday that Turkey would not get more deeply involved in the conflict with the Islamic State unless the United States agreed to give greater support to rebels trying to unseat the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad.

And the difference between Turkey and Obama is what?
Pray America wakes up
ISIS IS TURKEY.
Possibly, but keep in mind that they're dealing with Hussein 0bama and J F'ing Kerry, both of whom cannot find their arses with both hands and are just as likely to turn on you as a couple of snakes. Turkey is mooslim and has to walk a fine line, so they have to be careful where they side.
The Turks are just fine with a genocide of the Kurds as they are a pain in the side for Turkey. Also, the Islamists in Turkey and in the government there are sympathetic to ISIS and have allowed fighters to travel into Syria from all over the world along with ammunition and arms.
Turkey = ISIS = Qatar = Muslim Brotherhood = al-Nusra Front = Hamas =Valerie Jarrett = Obama
How dare they not fight whomever the U.S. wants them to.
This administration could screw up a one car funeral!
Send the next airstrike a mile north of Kobani than ask the Turkish scum to reconsider.
The Turks are promoting their own “Caliphate”...
Turkey is our enemy, as they were long ago. Why is the U.S. surprised when an enemy acts like one?
Post-of-the-Week Nominee!
Perhaps...one thing for sure..NO ONE TRUST ZERO.
Germany, Israel, Turkey, Canada, Australia and on and on
It’s coming more into focus why the Turks have been loathed by everyone in their region for so many centuries.
The only ones that trust Obama are the New York Times.
?????????
A Turk is a Turk is a Turk!
Once again this exposes the fallacy that a “democratic” Muslim state can be viewed from any other perspective than that of a typical Islamic entity - brutal, savage, primitive, and hostile.
Obama claims we can’t do it alone. That’s because he is CIC.
I remember the US railing at the EU about letting Turkey in. The EU realizes that history rhymes, and Turkey is Turkey.
That's it in a nutshell. If one accepts these ties one obtains clarity of vision and predictive power. Denying these ties leaves one befogged and ignorant, unable to find reason in Obama's actions and inactions.
Can somebody explain why we need to depose Assad — when we have no idea about who is going to take his place and how sustainable the replacement would be? If we depose Assad, we are going to OWN that conflict, and, as usual, we’ll cut and run when the going gets tough.
