A definitive 20-year study into the effects of long-term cannabis use has demolished the argument that the drug is safe. Cannabis is highly addictive, causes mental health problems and opens the door to hard drugs, the study found.

Just wanted to pass this along--maybe it'll temper the enthusiasm some of us have for dangerous habits.
I am certain that as time goes on, it will become clear the path laid bare by the Supreme Court today regarding marriage will be mourned by society. The evidence will show that redefining marriage as "whatever we want to call it" hurts, deeply, the human condition.
Exhibit A: Look whose in the White House.
Kinda sounds like beer....
opened the door to my sister alright, but when you point that out to the druggies they then point the finger at her instead of their drugs they so much like
I never heard a peep about scientific studies before pot was legalized.
When reached for comment, Cheech Marin responded; ‘wait, what?’.
Pot smokes your Brain.
I’m still on the fence. My dad has horrible back pain and nerve damage. His first back surgery was in 1981. That is many, many years of constant pain. Because of this, he is on strong pain relievers and will be for life. I’ve learned that some of them, like oxycodone, contain artificial heroin. I’ve seen what decades of prescription painkillers does to a person. Could medical marijuana really be that much worse?
I recently had a minor surgery and Vicodin was prescribed. I chose to suffer for a few days rather than take that drug. I’m grateful that, for me, the pain was temporary. If I was looking at years of debilitating pain I would be looking for relief.
There’ve also been definitive studies proving that eating too much sugar makes you fat and impairs her cognitive abilities overtime.
I’d rather the government not criminalize or control anything it’s none of their damn business. If your actions are not hurting others or denying others their rights then it is no business of government.
You either have tyranny or you don’t. And when you start out with soft tyranny you end up with a hard tyranny overtime as more and more people in power try to “help the children .”
Using sugar isn’t a moral weakness.
I don’t think many would oppose its use for true pain relief. That’s not how it’s being used, of course, by most.
I don’t oppose the use of opiates for true pain relief, either. Of course they have their bad side effects, but it’s always a cost/benefit analysis.
There are two types of brain damaged addicts wandering outside my office building right now.
The first are the methheads. They generally are twitching, swearing, acting psychotically.
The second are the dopers. They no longer can put together a coherent sentence and their brains are running at 15 rpm. You can tell them by their slurred speech and difficulty understanding and responding to another person. They sit around all day doing nothing.
The methhead tweakers are probably more dangerous, but the dopers are just as screwed up.
And this guy was paid by the anti-drug people. Having looked at studies, especially for doctoral papers, etc, invariably they are written to support the initial assumption. All results are built to support the assumptions and any data which would interfere with this is discounted as outliers, even if,the preponderance of the proof.
Lotta stoners on FR it seems.
It can be.
And they can just not stop posting about dope. Like moths to a flame
Unfortunately. Many claim that they don’t “use”, they just object to government control. The truth is if mankind cannot control themselves, laws will.
You people make me laugh.
I gotta tell you that the lefties are already trying to make being fat to be a moral weakness. In the future if you eat too much sugar and you get fat the bureaucrats in Obamacare are going to judge you not worth the money and turn you down for any surgeries and let you die. All for your own good of course.
