A Georgia man was killed by police executing a search warrant obtained after a car thief told police he stole methamphetamine from the dead man’s vehicle, media reports say.

...snip...

The homeowner, David Hooks, a 59-year-old grandfather and businessman, reported the missing SUV.

...snip...

An hour after getting the search warrant, Shook said David Hooks’ wife saw camouflaged men in her yard with guns and told her husband.

David Hooks’ final act was to arm himself with a shotgun.

...snip...

Police searched the home for 44 hours and found no drugs.

Also, the constitution does not mandate a knock on the door to accompany the warrant, so I don’t know why a no knock entry complaint was relevant.

...

I pretty sure some states specifically require a no-knock warrant.

It’s not just the criminally insane magistrate at fault here. If the magistrate had given written permission to set up a 50 caliber machine gun on a highway and fire at suspected speeders, and the cops followed through, would you only blame the magistrate.

No way Jose.

There are many public employees fattening at the public trough who should be summarily fired and ex-pensioned from this incident. Starting with the criminally retarded cops who kicked down the door and moving up the chain of command.

In your mind the cops have no blame here? What about the cops who requested the warrant on the word of a druggy car thief? You think they are earning their pay? You think they are pros? You think they are competent? You think they are even honest?

They deserve life-changing consequences, in my opinion. At the very least, they are far too stupid to be cops. There should be a minimum practical IQ. And I’m not talking about some phony psych test. I’m talking about the IQ test of life. Everyone involved in this story failed a lifeIQ test miserably.

They are all functionally retarded. Get them off the trough. Stat.

Your post #57 should be tattooed on the forehead of every employee of every criminal justice unit at every level of government in this country

Only by extreme repetition can the mentally retarded be taught anything.

Your post #89 is exactly correct. If anyone yelling “cops!” as they break into your home can instantly nullify your 2nd amendment rights and your right to self-defence,, then the only legitimate reaction to ANY home invasion is to get down on the floor, grovel, and say “please, sir, take my wife and daughters.” (Or apologies for lack thereof.)

“Even if I were to agree with you (which I don’t), isn’t there a compelling interest by the police not to create situations that could lead to unnecessary violence and death? Don’t they have a moral obligation to treat their fellow citizens like people instead of subjects? Or are those concepts just too bothersome for overgrown kids who don’t want to miss out on a chance to play army? “

I am sorry but those are loaded questions. There is no point in arguing.

The perp was probably shocked they bought it too.

..................

I can hear him now, talking to his cell-mates, assuming he’s even still in jail (probably not)...

Can you believe? Cops THAT stupid!!! Ha!ha!ha!

It’s all a big joke. Hope everyone gets a big laugh out of this. After all, it’s not like anyone’s PENSION is at risk here. So please, pass the donuts and let’s talk about something else.

That’s a loaded question? Asking if they shouldn’t consider the rights of citizens above and beyond some warrant signed by some magistrate?

Are you really that stupid? I think you might be on the mental level of those who listened to the druggy car thief in the first place. And murdered a citizen on he word of a druggy car thief.

So if it’s in a warrant, it requires no further thought on anyone’s part? You really believe that?

Wow. Just wow. That’s astronomical stupidity. Exponential stupidity.

We need the concept of criminally stupid.

We have the concept of criminally insane.

We need the concept of criminally stupid.

It fits these cops, because they are feeding at the public trough.

And it fits you. But only if you are feeding at the public trough, which I suspect you are.

I agree with your #107. It’s not just the top brass (though they too are criminally at fault).

The rank-and-file SWAT participant shares in the fun (and it is SO MUCH FUN!!!), he’s got to share in the blame, too.

Please answer post #114. And in advance, if you say it’s a “loaded question” I say you are a loaded-with-stupidity moron.

It’s not a loaded question. The question in #114 is real and could happen to YOU.

Why not just call him in to pick up his car and not even mention the drugs until they have him there? “We have your car at the station. Just come sign for it, and it’s all yours. We’re waiving the impound fees, Sir.” Take him into custody, and then serve the warrant if appropriate.

Of course the answer is, then they don’t get to play with toys and threaten death. Make no mistake, they have no intentions of finding ways to avoid raids.

I added the bold font myself, for emphasis.

This crap will stop when those jackboots names are publicized, and their homes are burned to the ground.

No need to go to such extremes. Fire them and TAKE AWAY THEIR PENSIONS.

Public servants AROUND THE WORLD will sit up and take notice if their PENSION RIGHTS are on the table.

Believe me. That's all you need to do.

There is no point in arguing.

True dat. You are the problem in America today. You should get a button made that proclaims it thus: "I AM THE PROBLEM IN AMERICA. I AM A FASCIST."

You embrace tyranny.
