Scouter's Ebola Projection Update - 10/4/2014 - (Vanity)
To: Vendome; scouter My wife just flew into Newark from Brussels. Been waiting on the plane for 1 1/2 hours now to deplane. Medical emergency onboard with a passenger vomiting.
They have to wait for the CDC to come interview the person before they can leave.
Consider travel plans carefully.

indeed
So even though the passenger has been cleared they are keeping everyone on board.
It will be interesting...and telling...if the CDC keeps monitoring your wife. Also if they allow you to communicate, especially with FR.
Ponder that...
They're just hanging out waiting for someone to give the ok to leave.
I’m seriously going to start carrying a surgical mask with me along with my hand sanitizer.
Hell with that we are still in the US.
Adding you and your family to our Prayers. Please keep us updated if at all possible.
Heading to Mass in a few minutes. I’ll keep you and your wife in my prayers.
I was expecting that
Hope you hear from her soon
That is criminal. Passengers should have been first off the plane, not the sick one. I’d be contacting a lawyer.
(and tables, walls, doors, dishes, carpets, doorknobs, TVs, video games, pictures, toilets, sinks, linen, furniture, pets, autos, bicycles, cell phones,....)
GET YOUR HAZMAT SUITS HERE! ICE COLD HAZMAT! POPCORN, PEANUTS, HAZMAT!
Me too. And wearing gloves. (Shopping cart handles are disgusting)
Everyone thought that it was weird and overreactive, but after the H1N1 outbreak, it’s become fashion in Japan. (They even sell designer masks)
If this thing goes south, I can see this trend beginning in the cities and rapidly spreading through the country.
And they know it that fast, huh?
I suppose they are going by their “word” that haven’t been exposed.
I sincerely hope they are right.
Why is Obama empolying the JV CDC squad?
Doesn’t he know this is series?
I’m getting in the shower!
When entering the country on a plane, your not suppose to use your mobile device until you clear customs.
Yep. They’ll go to extraordinary lengths to quarantine plants and animals but humans? Come right in!
Is that Bammy/W Administrative Law or Real Law?
DiagnosisI think the ELISA and RT-PCR test results are available in about 3 hours. Maybe some medical FReepers can help.It can be difficult to distinguish EVD from other infectious diseases such as malaria, typhoid fever and meningitis. Confirmation that symptoms are caused by Ebola virus infection are made using the following investigations:
- antibody-capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
- antigen-capture detection tests
- serum neutralization test
- reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay
- electron microscopy
- virus isolation by cell culture.
Samples from patients are an extreme biohazard risk; laboratory testing on non-inactivated samples should be conducted under maximum biological containment conditions.
