Dallas Paramedic: We Weren’t Contacted After Working in Ebola Exposed Ambulance

HOUSTON, Texas -- A Dallas paramedic claimed he drove the ambulance that the US Ebola patient was transported in and that he was not contacted by anyone about the potential exposure. He claims he drove the ambulance sometime after the patient was transported. The Dallas Fire Department left the ambulance that transported Ebola patient Thomas Duncan to the hospital in service for at least 48 hours before putting it in quarantine on Wednesday. The ambulance was exposed to the Ebola virus when Duncan was transported on September 28th. “All the people in the back of the ambulance 48 hours later before they finally took the ambulance out of service,” said Dallas Paramedic Geoffrey Aklinski in a discussion on Facebook, “none of them have been contacted. None of the paramedics that were on that shift and went in the ambulance were contacted. I’ve been off three days now. No one contacted me and I was in and drove that ambulance after it was infected.”

Sadly it’s becoming that way. :( Instead of raising international standards, the Govt. is lowering ours. (the level the playing field no doubt)

Wonder how many birds and flies decided to savor the vomit and then fly off transporting the little particles?

Bingo. Add in the fleas and mosquitoes on those birds.

Exactly and when the ER is overwhelmed as in St. Louis? The medical establishment is only able to take care of a limited amount of people in a “snapshot” of time. Illegal Immigrants have slammed many small hospitals into closing. What happens when an pandemic hits? Not enough equipment for “support” care until your body heals?

This just gets worse and worse

Tru dat but at least it draws attention away from the EV-D68 virus that hit 13 states starting in mid August and has now spread to over 42 states.

No sense in bringing back attention to the over 60,000 unaccompanied illegal children who were distributed all over the country this very year and were likely "patient zeros' for the D68 and other previously unreported diseases such as tuberculosis........

I meant to post this one to you a little while ago but got sidetracked.

Imagine a patient like this. Working the fast food drive thru just off the interstate in someplace like Dallas. Or Nashville. Getting paid by the hour so there’s impetus to just man up and come to work and hope for the best. Particularly if they feel a little better today than they did yesterday.

Working the window.

Giving every single customer on their shift a little bit of an extra treat with every bag and drink they hand through the window...

I haven’t seen anyone posting anything about touching MONEY......That is one item that travels everywhere...

Well, unfortunately my exposure to that is very limited lately.

I guess that means I'm lucky.

That’s the way I see it.

Now I and my hubby can hunker down for months if need be, but my daughter has to work to pay her mortgage etc. And if her daughter misses even one day of school, they call and want to know why she’s not there and pitch a hissy fit.

A bit better with grand daughter’s kids. Now they could all stay home as the oldest is just in preschool, but her husband has to work and so does she.

So it would have to get pretty bad before they would consider just all staying home. I probably have enough for 3 to 4 months of simple foods for all of us, but they’ll have to eat beans, which they claim to dislike.LOL

I saw something in the last day claiming Nigeria had 19 cases. I don’t know whether Sawyer is counted in that total. They only had a 40% mortality rate. They were considered lucky in that Sawyer presented dramatically, so was taken quickly to a hospital. It was rapidly recognized as Ebola and that hospital was promptly quarantined. So although there were a string of exposed victims initially, there wasn’t a chance for him to spread it to large groups when he was less sick. Not like the “Ø chance of happening” US case where he communed with the extended family and the ER before being recognized.
