Mississippi Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Travis Childers today became the first Democrat to sign an anti-amnesty pledge from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a unexpected and extraordinary play that could significantly change the dynamics of his campaign against incumbent Sen. I wonder if the MS Supreme Court rejects McDaniels appeal if that
will further enrage MS conservatives or allow them a reason to move on.

If they get away with is without penalty, they will do it over and over again in the future. And that needs to be stopped.

That is exactly the point I have been trying to get across to all those "But Harry Reid is BAD!!!" types.

Yes, Harry Reid is bad, but McConnell won't be much better, and letting him and Cochran get away with it will very likely be losing the war.

Our only hope is to preserve the reform movement known as the "Tea Party" and the only way to do that is to prevent McConnell and Cochran from getting away with the tactic of portraying it as racist. We have to make them pay for that because the future of the entire movement hangs in the balance.

Childers is also ANTI-Same/Sex Marriage, PRO-Life, PRO-Second Amendment.

Is there going to be a Debate between him and Thad? Being Pro-life, Pro-Second Amendment, ANTI-Same Sex Marriage and ANTI-Amnesty..... Travis Childers is more conservative than Thad Cockroach.

If by “moving on” they mean voting for Cochran, I won’t be moving on. I couldn’t maintain the rage I have felt at this betrayal of conservatives through dirty tactics and not have a stroke, but enraged or dead calm, I won’t be voting for Cochran.

Cochran campaign may not get away with not debating Childers,
since this is a General election.

Yep. I don’t really think it is worth the risk. Childers would probably remain reasonably moderate, but it would be a crap shoot. Remember that Reid himself was one of the more moderate Democrats in the U.S. Senate before he became majority leader. Now, he is as far left as Lizzie Warren.

McDaniel has promised a war against the Mississippi GOPe in 2015...he wants to throw out the state party. Good for him..I hope he succeeds. But, if this is a war, why not let it begin now?

Don’t forget Haley Barbour. He’s the mastermind pulling the strings in Mississippi. The plan is simple: Cochran wins, retires is 6 months, and Barbour gets to pick the next senator..

OMG....... after what Cochran and Barbour pulled are you insinuating that they are more honest and trustworthy than any Democrat? I don’t trust Democrats, but, a one-eyed crack whore is more trustworthy than that corrupt, Mississippi bunch. May they rot in hell.

Why don’t all you Cochran/Barbour lovers get a message to your boy Thad and demand that he debate Childers and let’s see how well they both do? I said it before and I say it again: Childers is an old-style, Southern, Truman Democrat. He is not only ANTI-Amnesty, but he is ANTI-Same/Sex Marriage, PRO-Life, PRO-Second Amendment.

I have such burning hatred for Cochran and Barbour I wish someone in Mississippi would start a ..................

"REPUBLICANS FOR CHILDERS" MOVEMENT!

And before anyone says anything, hell yes I'm vindictive; more than you can imagine AND.... don't start the old "bite your nose off to spite your face...." crap. I could live quite happily not having a nose for just the joy of seeing Thad Cochran and Barbour lose this thing after all their underhanded, scummy tactics they used in the Primary Run-off.

He is not only ANTI-Amnesty, but he is ANTI-Same/Sex Marriage, PRO-Life, PRO-Second Amendment.

...Until Harry Reid gets in his face.

I'm no Cochran fan, but I would never vote for any member of today's democrat party. Here in Virginia, Mark Warner swore up and down in 2008 he'd be an "independent voice" for this state... yet, once he entered office, he became one of Obama's most devoted servants. Warner's voting record in the Senate is 97% aligned with Obama's agenda.

Democrats can state their going-in philosophies until they're blue in the face, but they are cogs in a wheel that has but ONE purpose: The furtherance of the goals and objectives of the democrat party, good of the country be damned. When it gets to nut-cutting time, Childers will prove that out. Dems live, breathe, eat and exist for their beloved Party -- first, foremost and always.

And people like Thad Cochran, Pat Roberts, Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove (non-elected position)........... live and breathe for the furtherance on one goal: To keep their positions of power; the little people be damned!!!

They also live to expand the power and reach of the state, which makes them no different from the GOPe. IMO, we don’t really even have a choice anymore, and I have to wonder if that was a plan.

So you’re not denying my contention re: Childers, then, right?
