God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.
Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.
....
Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."
"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."
"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."
The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.
I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.
Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

I’ll be too busy suppressing minority votes to cast my own ballot on Election Day.
No way!
The GOP does not automatically have my vote; should an unacceptable candidate win their primaries I will not vote for him.
(Romney is a good example; I consider him to be Obama's political clone and therefore unacceptable.)
Everybody stand up and announce to the GOP leadership that they can lie, cheat and steal from us with impunity, and we'll still swallow whatever crap they want to shove down our throats, and like it.
You say conservatives help the left by staying home. However, they are helping the left if they vote for RINOs.
Thank the GOP for the result.
No. Principles are never useless. They are what one uses to govern oneself. And it is by those same principles that you and I, and everyone else, expects others to be governed by.
To vote against principle is to vote for the unprincipled. Hence, as I have said before, until you are willing to hold out for statesmen, you will be left with mere politicians. That, FRiend, is the cold edge of truth.
Harry Reid thanks you and applauds your wisdom.
If the RINO wins the primary, I will not vote for them. I will never vote for them. They do not represent my values, they might as well be Democrats.
Are you kidding me? Sounds like you are in the capitulation camp too. So just when do we grow a back bone, or I guess as you suggest, do we keep taking it in the rear?
Well, that’s true. The problem with a lot of states is that there are simply too many “conservative” candidates and that there is then generally a libertarian who muddies the waters.
That’s why I think we’ve got to really push during the primaries to get one strong contender to emerge. The RINOs have only one; non-RINOs seem to have a minimum of three (not to mention the libertarian), which means that all the votes are concentrated by the RINO.
Also, states with open primaries have got to stop this practice! That should be a target for all conservative groups in any state that has open primaries.
I hope I get to see Cornyn’s face when he hears he got less than 60% of the vote.
Politics is not a simple a or b choice. At the national level, it is a dynamic flow.
At present, the dynamic flow is guided by the Democrat party. Their liberals make it the party of give-aways; a party of “vote for me and I’ll give you this service or benefit.” This vote buying creates a side effect that they use often: ‘the republicans are uncaring because they won’t give you things.”
Unless the congressional district has all true conservatives, the republican political party must moderate its message in order to win the district seat. That’s why you have rinos. There’s a tactical reason for keeping a seat light-republican instead of full democrat.
Only two things will cure us of this problem.
a. the debt calling the politics - - no more give aways. No more vote-buying.
b. the voters become educated to a level that they understand the evil acts of the Democrats.
Staying home and whining makes matters worse, regardless of the rationalizing. Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are smart enough to understand political dynamics. I hope you are too.
I hope he gets less than that.
Once upon a time I actually thought me and the Republican Party were on the same general side, I no longer feel that way
Have you ever noticed that if will listen to people sometimes that often they won’t get so loud?
That would be the sanctimonious self righteous who place a higher value on their own self esteem than on America. Better Obama than me feeling bad is the attitude
What is revealing is the number of party-hacks and Ruling Class acolytes who are telling us “f—k your principles, vote for the guy with the “R” after their name even if they declared war on you, or you are worse than the Marxists and will be blamed for everything bad that happens”.
Big government ruling class statists whether politicians or their stormtroopers are really no different than the MarxoFascists; liberty means NOTHING to them. Only loyalty to party does.
fixesto ObamaCare… you know,
keeping the good parts.
Read my post above, please.
Too much ego here and not enough reasoning.
> [...] the worse of two evils from getting elected.
There’s your fallacy, right there.
One candidate is usually ess evil / harmful than the other unless it’s a draw. To not vote is like acting a vote for the liberals. I don’t see how it’s a fallacy.
