NATIONAL REVIEW
SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 12:34 PM
God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.
Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.
....
Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."
"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."
"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."
The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.
I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.
Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

You are truly an idiot or a Soros troll.
Please do not respond.
Agreed. One of the toughest is taking the keys away from the kids after they've smashed up the family car for the fourth time.
dear onewinged,
I was left by the Repubes a while back, and I cannot endure any more Demoncrat/Communist antics, either.
However, i vote, not for what I can get, like a stoopsitter would, but what is best for the nation.
Yeah, there are certain topics that will get FReepers going. This is one of them.
If you reward bad behavior of course you will encourage more bad behavior.
America is the hostage.
Conservatism is the ransom.
Voting pragmatically is appeasement.
You are Neville Chamberlain.
Thanks for the assist.
Notice how they never address or comment on actual facts and points made about their party leadership.
They completely ignore McConnell’s vow to crush Conservatives “wherever they are found” and they ignore the fact that there HAS BEEN ZERO OPPOSITION to Obama and Reid’s agenda in the Senate unless you count gimmicks and the kabuki theatrics of making sure votes are present to advance the Obama agenda and then voting against it so they can claim to be an opposition party.
So it seems their foot soldiers are limited to Alinsky-level ridicule, insult and intimidation and if that does not work they call you an idiot, classify you to be a leftist troll and demand you not reply to them anymore.
Truth hurts and cognitive dissonance reins supreme apparently.
Ahh, you can’t make a pig sing.
Anger has given over to indifference. The gop and their democrat ilk can do as they please. I won’t be participating in the farce. Too many other useful ways to spend my limited time.
I’m gonna call Cruz’ office first thing in the AM and ask him if he don’t need no stinkin’ Senate or if he does want to win the Senate.
Put all these surrender PURISM monkeys out the window.
It’s become clear the GOPe does NOT want to retake the Senate.
Why? Probably because they know a conservative coalition is waiting to beat them into irrelevancy and maybe prosecution.
keep preachin Brothers, but i fear the circular firing squad of the "R" guys will soon be stalking you...
I been ‘stalked’ here many-many times, in fact its kind of fun now when they try it.
In 2012 going after Romney wasn't a problem here because so many here didn't like him, but going after Newt was for a short period, till it was obvious he didn't have a chance to beat Romney.
Making fun of Palin or her cult here is what brought the most emotional responses. It was easy to get their heads to explode which made it compelling. Man they would get mad and nasty.
I had a few freepers tell me not to ping them anymore early 2013 because I ridiculed Ryan's phony budget resolutions. A few really got mad at me, like that one Bushbot who posts threads all the time,
Here in Maryland the majority of the few Republicans always told me that Dole, McCain and Romney were great candidates and some got really frustrated and mad when I was critical of them.
I always say, vote your conscience.

the other guy, and/or (c) when the candidate has expressed, by either word or deed, contempt for you, his
base.
Or as I told a RINO pusher on another thread:
Voting for RINOs is like drinking a glass of wine that someone urinated in.
I only put 1% urine in it, come on!
Drink up!
Its the lesser of two evils!
My only problem w/ Palin is that she supports McCain (you know the crazy old guy who pals around with terrorists, iced the F-22, constantly reaches across the aisle
, and has his name on a pile of contraconstitutional bilge.) — if that isn't enough to make you at least question her, you ought to consider if you're infatuated or not.
Now her cult, those guys are kinda creepy — I didn't like the Obama cult of personality, why would I like one for one of our guys
?
Somehow, after all of this, FReepers are supposed to coalesce, unite and become influential?
It is but to laugh...not at this rate, when other FReepers [Party members] find it so easy to ridicule, demean and insult conservatives for holding to those very things that help make them conservative...principles.
You do that.
Right afterwards, explain why I OWE my vote to anyone who has stated they hate me and want to crush me?
blind faith in your own belief is a losing strategy
Although I feel certain you will not expend the effort, were you to study the actions of the House in recent years, you would notice that in spite of the hated Boehner, they voted to repeal Obamacare 41 times. They made efforts to shut off the debt ceiling and on and on.
You are pretty much just wrong in your assessment
Yeah, the House republicans are good for two things: CAVING to Obama, and performing futile actions that they know will go nowhere so they can go “Well, we TRIIIIIED!”
They CAVE.
