The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday confirmed the first case of Ebola has been diagnosed in the United States.
This story is developing. Please check back for further updates
Africa flights should be stopped but they won’t.......economics surrounding Ebola does come into play...., Jobs, work, food delivery,.....politicians will ride the edge so that isn’t disturbed.
I wonder did they lock down the hospital? The guy wasn’t put in isolation right away so you;d think they’d do at least that.
IMHO, Ez 7,8 have more pertinence than the Rev 6:8 passage.
It might explain why no mention is made of the US in the latter times.
I sure wouldn’t want to go...
I was hoping the reports weren’t true when someone posted the picture of Baghdad Bob.
Very suspicious.
CDC having chat on their twitter account ...in 12 minutes ....for any interested...answer questions etc....but will see I’ll let you know...might not be informative...

Driving from Monrovia to Lagos is no trivial matter.
“People with Ebola are contagious and able to transmit the virus only when they are showing symptoms, which occurs about a week after they are exposed to the virus.”
Not true. Only true most of the time. There are many documented transmissions from asymptomatic patients.
BFL
When he got brought to the ER in an ambulance on the 28th. Who rode in that ambulance on their NEXT run that evening? And the next person, and next person. Who cleaned that ambulance? Where did they put the stuff that got thrown away?
Augh.

Thanks Caww. Might be worth a look see. Wonder if obama will make another speech tomorrow telling everyone not to worry that everything is under control. If he does ... it would be strongly recommended (imho) to make plans to get the heck out of Dodge with the track record obama has on speaking and then the actions that follow.
Hundreds, maybe a thousand?
That’s a nightmare situation. If their clothing got contaminated from touching him, who washed it? Their wives, the cleaning service, the laundry service? Inquiring minds...
BTW, I remember reading on one of the Nigerian news sites that the janitor at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos where Patrick Sawyer crashed out later died from ebola. IIRC his wife was under quarantine as well, never did hear if she succumbed or was just being watched.
I know, I saw Sahara with McConaghey and Penelope Cruz. Lotsa challenges along the way :)
It was not people on the flight who contracted the Ebola, it was the contact with people on the ground when he collapsed in Lagos who were inadequately prepared.
When Sawyer landed at Murtala Mohammed airport on July 20, none of the bystanders, airport staff or health workers who rushed to help him understood the danger they were in.
No one had the full body protection of mask, suit and gloves that are essential to prevent contagion, so his ill advised journey gave the worlds worst Ebola outbreak a foothold in Africas most populous nation.
Sawyer died five days later, followed by one of the nurses who first treated him. Eight others are confirmed infected and receiving treatment, including a hospital doctor.
Unfortunately nobody knew the status of this person, no one knew the kind of illness that he had, no one knew he was coming, Lagos state health commissioner Jide Idris said. A health official said he had also been sick on the plane.
Sawyer was taken to First Consultants Hospital where, Idris said, he was treated like any ordinary patient.
Anyone trusting our current Uncle Sambo on this* is exhibiting naivete in the extremis.
*(or most anything else for that matter)

Thanks for the snort. LOL Love sarcasm.
Good point about the potentially infected ambulance. Throw in the vehicle the victim travelled in to and fro the hospital on the day they refused to admit him.
Have only read half the posts but thought that the updated Executive Order in July to add these symptoms and authority to QUARANTINE people...
Ebola is in America: Dallas man is diagnosed with disease AFTER return from Africa in first case found on U.S. soil. Now in isolation but he MAY have infected others
Man with Ebola at Dallas hospital was first SENT HOME with antibiotics before the deadly virus was later discovered

We are provided a washer and dryer for our laundry and -most- people use it. Others wear it home.
Did he mention to the crew that he might be infected? Or was it like every other shift when we take someone with the flu to the hospital, so it was treated like no big deal?
