The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday confirmed the first case of Ebola has been diagnosed in the United States.

They are trying to down play this. One the next wave hits, it will be hard to stop
When people aren’t flying anymore the airline industry will go hat in hand back to the government whining for another mountain of taxpayer money. Don’t forget the trickle down to the airline personnel who will be pink slipped and sign up for EBT cards and obamacare. Then there’s the food services and the plane parts manufacturing and the fuel companies and the taxis not getting airport fares and the expensive shops within the airport and the....
Well, I can safely say I’m not flying anywhere. Was planning San Antonio shopping over weekend, but not sure now.
My boss and hubby just flew back from east coast Sunday! Not sure if they flew into Austin or SA. Probably far-fetched, but we need to be careful. I wouldn’t be eating in any salad bars in Dallas for instance.
His accent should have prompted questions.
Depends on the victims and their habits and occupations, but they managed to track the spread in Nigeria and we ought to be able to do that here in most cases. The problem is we will have 100's of these infiltrations, if not more.
I was foolish enough to believe that Ebola coming to America was very serious, but apparently it`s of little concern, no big deal at all, they have it handled says the guy at CDC, at least that`s what I heard him say.
I wonder if God sends a plague on the earth anytime, to say wipe out a third of the earth, the CDC will say...no probs, we got it covered.
In Dallas, nobody needs to be touching anything communal: soup ladle handles, olive spoon handles, toilet flushers without bleach wipes, gas pump handles, nothing until the CDC lays out what and where this guy was from the minute he landed until they finally accepted him in for treatment.

We should do pretty well with a couple cases. But if we get 100's flying in through Europe, then it won't be pretty.
I was thinking about gas pumps today as I filled up my car. There are so many things that hundreds of people touch. Ugh - I’m a germaphobe to begin with.

Maybe, maybe not. Expose health care workers would be at the top of the list. You'd just have to weasel your way out of being tossed into the isolation unit. Of course, a few days later, you might get scared and go back to the hospital begging to be admitted.
There should be immediate cancellation of all flights from West African nations. Plus screening of all passengers coming from Africa to determine their travel history. Anyone remotely symptomatic on any flight should be quarantined and have blood test run to prove negative for Ebola.
Phffft. Easy for YOU to say.
He sure is...ebola getting loose could turn into a real cash cow for Bill and Melinda.
I wonder if this was actually an infected terrorist on a mission?
Instead of bomb belts, just fly in terrorist who’ve been intentionally infected as bio-bombs...Jump on all the public transportation they can until detected or drop dead....
I got a cold starting last night. My two-year-old granddaughter caught a cold a few days ago, and she was miserable. Her nose stopped running yesterday, and the cold is tapering off. So I was on the couch babysitting while she was watching a cartoon on TV and her mom is in the kitchen, and I closed my eyes to doze off a few minutes. Opened my eyes to see her face a couple inches away breathing into my face "Wake up!". So much for being careful in not getting her germs in me, constantly washing my hands and avoiding touching my face or food. All it took was a few breaths into my nose and I caught it.
I have N95 masks, very efficient for paint and woodworking I do. While burning off paint with a heat gun, can't even smell any smoke. Try that with a simple mask, and you'll still smell smoke as it slips between the simple elastic mask and your face. N95 filters on a tight rubber mask is the what you need.
If he was here to spread it, he would have headed straight to the malls.
I’ve thought the same - it would be incredibly easy.
