The tire tracks from the bus Barack Obama drove over the U.S. intelligence community continue leading to trouble for a president seen as trying to save his own political skin.
When Obama told 60 Minutes on Sunday that the rapid rise and spread of ISIS could be blamed on intelligence failure, that set off a firestorm of angry reaction. Intelligence officials adamantly defend their expertise and actions, arguing that the blame is not theirs, but the presidents for failure to act on their repeated warnings.
The Washington Times reports that the White House has been given detailed briefings on the activities of the Islamic State and their relentless spread of terror for well over a year.
U.S. policy leaders, including President Obama, were repeatedly warned for more than a year by the U.S. intelligence community that the Islamic State terror group was gaining significant strength in Syria and was on the verge of seizing territory deep inside Iraq, where the military was struggling to respond.
The private assessments, which were confirmed to The Washington Times on Monday, conflict with Mr. Obamas claim on national television over the weekend that Americas spies had underestimated the rise and capabilities of the Islamic State and had overestimated the Iraqi militarys ability and will to fight the group.
And a new study offers a reason for Obamas lack of awareness about the emergence of ISIS he wasnt paying attention he was disinterested and detached. President Obama, says this damning report, has skipped over half his daily intelligence briefings.
Via breitbart.com:
A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.
The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obamas PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.
In a revealing analysis on americanthinker.com, Thomas Lifson argues that Obamas apparent attempt to shift blame from his own inaction to the inadequacies of his intelligence experts will backfire and be a disaster for his presidency.
Obama has now handed his political opponents a big issue. He has failed in his duty to protect America.
Once the impression is created that Obama is irresponsible in his duty to protect us, it will be very hard indeed for him to escape a degree of scorn, particularly if the threat from ISIS and domestic terrorists (including lone wolves who may not be done with beheadings) continues to produce dramatic images.
Maybe they had “words” like OBGYN in them. We know he doesn’t know how to read that.
Maybe they were written in some “strange” script fro left to right that he doesn’t understand?
Wikipedia is not your best source of info on this type of issue. I was married to a person who did some of these briefings. As Bob accurately stated in post 38, it is a two-tiered presentation. The POTUS is supposed to get the oral briefing so that he can not only ask questions, but also direct his intelligence agencies to dig deeper/get more info on areas he deems serious and/or a threat. Obama is lazy and detached. He probably wasn’t even listening on those occasions when he actually took the oral briefing. Obviously he didn’t read the report, or he wouldn’t have been “blindsided” by ISIS.
Here’s a good article for you to look at. It details at least three times the Obama Administration was warned of ISIS—and was written by an MSMer, no less:

Drudge has a great headline:
“Obama Strategy: Claim ignorance, blame subordinates, hope people forget...”
I agree with what you said. I’ll just add this. Obama wants to ignore everything that isn’t going according to his plan. His plan = the mere fact of his being POTUS [in place of that wretched Bush] makes everything in the world okay. That’s good, because Obama would rather be on the golf course than making hard decisions.
A national security staffer in the Obama administration said the president has been seeing 'highly accurate predictions' about the rise of the ISIS terror army since 'before the 2012 election'
Obama insisted in his campaign speeches that year that America was safe and al-Qaeda was 'on the run'
The president said during Sunday's '60 Minutes' program that his Director of National Intelligence had conceded he underestimated ISIS
But the administration aide insisted that Obama's advisers gave him actionable information that sat and gathered dust for more than a year
'He knew what was at stake,' the aide said of the president, and 'he knew where all the moving pieces were'
Obama takes daily intelligence briefings in writing, he explained, because no one will be able to testify about warning the president in person about threats that the White House doesn't act on. (Excerpt) Read more at americanthinker.com ...

This may be the shape of things to come, as intelligence officials realize Obama intends to make them sacrificial lambs.

Another report asserted: "Obama takes daily intelligence briefings in writing so that no one will be able to testify about warning the president in person about threats that the White House doesn't act on...."
OTOH, Obama gets twice-daily tallies on his offshore holdings in person as they come into the WH from around the globe---so that he can act upon insider Congressional reports from Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.
Remember, people-----the C-in-C appointed Valerie Jarrett his "Senior Deputy Advisor." In the parlance of Chicago criminal politics, that means "wire transfer artist."
==================================================
......others in the intelligence community blasted Obama......said hes shown longstanding disinterest in receiving live, in-person PDBs that allow the C-in-C the chance for critical followup, feedback, questions, and the challenging of flawed intelligence assumptions......
Even more alarming is that know-nothings like Jen Psaki, Marie Harf and the execrable Suzan Rice and Samantha Powers are all getting top secret info....as did Obama's ex-van driver---Tommy Vietor-----who was also given a seat at WH Situation Room crisis meetings.
Its chilling to know "anything for a buck Hillary" was also privy to US intel.
Plus....the WH ding-a-ling apparently gave top secret clearance to 5 million of his henchmen burrowed deep inside the US govt apparat.
What are these people doing w/ top secret intel? Selling it to our enemies?
Not even that. The Sounds of Silence from the DC crowd about Obama's Mideast failures and lack of attention are as unfathomable as they were when Romney dropped Benghazi as a campaign issue. It's as if everyone in the DC crowd, both parties, were involved in some grand global scheme that's playing out.
US voters would respond if someone, anyone, spoke eloquently about how far we've descended from the country we used to be.
Thanks for the link.
“US voters would respond if someone, anyone, spoke eloquently about how far we’ve descended from the country we used to be.”
There are plenty of people speaking eloquently out there, who is listening? Is the media letting their voices get out w/o their message being heavily edited and smeared with being racist — merely for telling the truth?
We currently have people celebrating police officers being shot and flowers thrown in the street for violent thugs.
What is there left of the American people who will listen?
Arm yourselves, people.
You’re very welcome. I don’t know if you’re interested, but Catherine Herridge is on the case as well. She is top notch:
“Obama has now handed his political opponents a big issue”
SO?
They’re to chicken shit to use it.
Worse. He went for the job to hurt the country because it's too white, too successful, and too inspirational to people around the world.
Strong opening ... very strong...
