I wonder about CBS' confidence in the show if they put it on in the late Sunday "death slot". Almost everything ends up getting canceled when it is in that time slot because of football delays. If you set your DVR to record a show in that slot, you usually get part of The Good Wife, then part of the following show minus the last 15 or so minutes. My wife and I found this to be the case when attempting to DVR Shark, The Mentalist and Unforgettable. Hopefully, Madam Hillary will be gone by mid-season.
It followed 60 minutes I don’ know if that helps them or not. All during football the east coast runs late on CBS.
I record everything I am interested in and then scan through much of it. Not interested in the Defender of Benghazi glorification. I do like Tia, but I’ll pass on this.
“After football” isn’t a death slot — it’s a coveted launching pad for a new series. You’ve got a zillion viewers already on the couch and tuned in to your station. Your best chance of getting a huge number of people to at least sample the show is after a known hit. Football was the highest rated program in America last year.
If the show is lousy, the slot won’t help... and as you say, delays will depress ratings somewhat. But CBS didn’t place the show there to kill it — they want to give it the best chance possible.
