Scorpion's first episode was excusable, as the actors and writers are feeling their way around. I thought the writing for the second one was just plain awful.

It's a shame. A well-written, well acted show about bright people who are outliers saving the world would fill a void. Leverage and Numbers were much better at that theme....sigh, miss them.

Hope those in charge of the show wake up in time. The cast seems fine; it's the writing that's awful. JMHO

I watched the NCIS spin-off episode for NO. I don’t care much for it. I don’t care to watch Scott Backula anyway, and his trying to fake a southern drawl is awful.

I wasn't even paying that much attention to the acting. The story was just awful. Not everyone who is smart is anti-social. It's funny on the Big Bang Theory (although I get annoyed when I make the same jokes as Sheldon and my friends call me on it). It's just that a show about "geniuses" should at least try to get some technical details right.

Backups overwriting the only good copy of software? Is this the IRS?

Vital backups being saved on a single hard disk? I'm just a lone computer programmer and I "splurged" for a $100 RAID server for my home network.

The plane having the good copy of the same software that was corrupted at the control tower?

No capability of the pilots to switch back to regional flight control when the tower goes out?

No plane-to-plane communications?

No one in the entire Los Angeles area with a freaking radio able to communicate on the ATC channel to those pilots too lazy to change frequencies to find out what is going on?

And the always popular failure to understand the difference between kilowatts and kilowatt-hours. Any script using the word "watt" should be reviewed by the set's chief electrician. You don't need a scientist - just, the guy hooking up lights and microphones would be able to say "No, you got that wrong".

I thought the writing for the second one was just plain awful.

Glad I didn't waste my time on it. I watched the first and culled it from my way too crowded viewing list.
