Obama says intel officials 'underestimated' rise of ISIS Never autoplay videos
One wouldn't be surprised if President Obama's Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, woke up Monday morning checking for tire tracks after his boss effectively threw him under the bus for having "underestimated" the threat posed by the Islamic State militant group.
But Obama's remarks in a "60 Minutes" interview drew immediate objections from lawmakers and the intelligence community.
In the interview, Obama was asked how the Islamic State was able to gain so much territory. "Our head of the intelligence community Jim Clapper has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria," the president said.

No, he's not facing one bit of backlash.
WaPo is blaming it all on the destructive nature of "political reporting". The NYT isn't even mentioning it.
Tonight the alphabet news folks will cover for Obama, and the primary news source for Obama-lovers (late night talk show hosts) will surely blame this all on Bush.
My thoughts too...so the only thing Clapper acknowledged is Obama’s opinion, not the same as agreeing to it or agreeing he underestimated them.
“Just remember that is was Clapper who called the Muslim Brotherhood a “largely secular organization.””
Clapper should have been fired right then.....it was obvious to anyone, even in the public realm, that keeps up on the issues that they were sharia oriented.
