Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) praised the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday in a statement provided exclusively to Breitbart News.
"It is good news that Eric Holder has announced his resignation, Cruz said, adding:
Sadly, he has proven to be the most partisan attorney general in our history, repeatedly defying and refusing to enforce the law. It did not have to be this way, but Holders leadership has grievously undermined the Department of Justices long bipartisan tradition of independence and fidelity to law.
Cruz, who called for Holders resignation in an interview at CPAC as he campaigned for U.S. Senate in 2012, said he pushed for Holders impeachment for partisan dereliction of duty regarding his handling of the IRS scandal.
Holder had an opportunity to fairly investigate the IRSs illegal targeting of citizen groups. Rather than do so, he entrusted the investigation to a major Democratic donor and brazenly refused to appoint a special prosecutor," Cruz said. Elaborating, he stated:
. . . . . . . . .
Cruz said the Senate should wait until the next Congress to confirm Holders replacement and not do so during the lame duck session after the November midterm elections.
To ensure that justice is served and that the Attorney General is not simply replaced with another extreme partisan who will likewise disregard the law, the Senate should wait until the new Congress is sworn in before confirming the next attorney general, Cruz said.

I regard it as neutral news because Holder’s replacement will be an ideological clone.

Holder is quitting now so Obama can get another disaster just like him confirmed by Senate this year, in case the GOP takes the Senate.
Definitely premature celebration.

Will we citizens be straddled with the expense of protecting this person’s life when he finally resigns?
Or will the Puerto Rican Revolutionaries; the Marc Rich family; the Mexican Drug Gangs; the surviving al-Qaeda organization members (by the way, who is protecting Gorelick?); the Solar Energy Lobbies, the NAACP; etc be picking up the tab?

Holder is quitting now so Obama can get another disaster just like him confirmed by Senate this year, in case the GOP takes the Senate. And Holder will move overseas for 2 years so he can dodge any subpoenas that may come his way. Then , just before he leaves office, Obama will grant him a full pardon " to forestall any partisan witch hunt"

Things will be no different next year wrt that.
Congress still cant legally enforce laws, prosecute, etc.\
And the new AG wont do it to him either.
Ironic that it now just takes 50+biden to confirm, but 2/3s to impeach
