(Reuters) - Several protesters were arrested on Thursday night after police clashed with demonstrators at a rally in Ferguson, Missouri, where black teenager Michael Brown was shot to death by a white police officer last month, CNN and KMOV-TV reported.
A number of protesters were arrested after Ferguson police chief Tom Jackson began marching with a crowd of rally-goers and a scuffle broke out near him, the broadcasters, CNN and St. Louis television station KMOV, said.
Reuters could not independently verify the reports. Representatives of the Ferguson Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
The latest incident comes just hours after Jackson issued a video apology to the parents of Michael Brown, following weeks of heavy criticism and calls for his ouster.
"I want to say this to the Brown family. No one who has not experienced the loss of a child can understand what you are feeling," Chief Jackson said in the video. "I am truly sorry for the loss of your son."
Jackson spoke directly into a camera and read from a script in the video, released by a public relations firm hired by the city. He addressed Brown's parents, as well as people whom he called "peaceful protesters."

I find it interesting that Ferguson protests died down as soon as the media left the area.
Now , CNN and other media outlets have returned , and the protests reoccur . A strange relationship exists between the media and the protesters.
Even the Huffington/ Fluffington Post went to a 'crowdfunding' site to raise monies in order to keep reporters in Ferguson.
The liberal media insist on keeping Ferguson in the news; so also doesn't the Demorat party who uses the situation there as a political motivator for militant divisiveness.
Last night several demonstrators were arrested; I wonder how many of the arrested were locals ,
and how many were 'imported' to keep the issue alive for the media event?

Only if they thought they could use liberal sprinklings of the words, "Uncle Tom" and trash him for not being Black enough - ironic with the color of Obama and Holder who are the two champion race baiters in the history of mankind...just goes to show that one needn't actually be Black to be worthy of the old "N-word" tag.
Of course, I'm old enough to remember when both races had a bit more common sense - saw a show with Moms Mabley on it one time way back when. She inferred that the tag "nigger" was appropriate for a person who acted in a certain way by stating that "NAACP" should stand for "Niggers Aren't Always Colored People".
Today, they would trash her and leaver her in a dumpster for such radical words....

They wanted the same thing in the Zimmerman incident, but made some mistakes and it did not quite work out. In the Ferguson incident, with the help of the Ferguson Police Department early on, they corrected those mistakes.
The Ferguson Police Department aided them greatly by not nipping the rioting, burning, and stealing in the bud and dispelling the rumors. Instead of doing that, they sat on their toys, menacing and probably taunting the peaceable protesters and allowing the rumors to spread and fester uncontested. Another mistake, in my opinion they made was allowing the outside professional agitators to set up camp. The Mayor, City Council, or Police Chief should have immediately asked for a Declaration of Martial Law and employed police dogs, water cannons or fire trucks with water hoses do disperse the burners and stealers. The outside agitators should have been attested for inciting a riot instead of being patted on the back and given the keys to the City.

Moms Mabley told a “Cinderella for the South” tale about how Fairy Godmother appears to a black girl, who for her wish asks to be turned into a white girl. Poof, and she’s transformed into a white girl so beautiful that the local Grand Kleagle asks her to the annual Klan Ball.
The grand procession doesn’t begin until nearly midnight, the transformed girl is on the arm of the Grand Kleagle as they promenade into the ballroom, and you can guess what happens when the clock strikes twelve......
Moms Mabley’s humor is of a different time.
