With the mid-term elections weeks away, many conservatives are confronting a difficult choice. Assuming there are no solid conservatives on the ballot, do we vote for establishment candidates? Or not vote at all?
The reasons why some conservatives are on the fence or planning not to vote are well known. (And Democrats are loving every minute of it!)
I share these frustrations.

Because he knew that this close to an election he would be imperiling the coming GOP gain.
If you throw millions out of healthcare now when there is no other recourse for them uou are ensuring that Obama expands the welfare state when he gets a Dem House again. This is why even Cruz didn't call for the same tactic.
The answer is to have a GOP House, Senate and WH. Then you get reforms.
And since I've been around this forum for a long time I pay no attention to the trolls, dem operatives, Losertarians, hyper-independents and know-it-all political naifs who always spam these types of threads en masse.
You can ALL stay home as far as I'm concerned, there's not that many of you. I'll work to get as many folks as I can out to vote to compensate for your boycotting....and others will, also.
I know you anti-GOP commentators here would rather see our country crumble than to get your fanny out to vote for (gasp) a moderate GOPer....but your grandiose no-vote ideas cannot be changed any more than I can change the mind of a dyed-in-the-wool liberal. And I don't care enough about your grand strategy (to win by losing) to even TRY to change your minds.
You are all so irrelevant to those doing battle on the front lines as you slouch and whine behind the lines in your foxholes sniping ineffectively at your own side. Carry on!

Many Losertarians will be too stoned to vote on election day.
Been there, done that, or is your memory too short to recall?
At least Cruz has a sense of timing and common sense that is clearly lacking in the GOPe leadership. Those sorry suckers can't even raise enough money now.

No, I remember a GOP leadership whose economy was healthy (Bush had the deficit down to 180 B), and was successfully prosecuting 2 wars where we were on offense.
That sounds better to me than a tripling of the debt, a vast new social health program and playing defense on the war on terror.
So why isn't he using the same strategy now? Because he knows that imperiling the health care of millions will win Dem seats.
If that is your assessment of the Bush years, then it is completely understandable that you would be perfectly happy with RINOs running everything. Perhaps we can enlarge the Department Education, or maybe TSA needs to move into train stations and bus terminals, and perhaps those people who did not reap the reward of government spending will do better next time around. Oh yes, Bush did such a wonderful job. Can’t wait for Jeb to get his turn.
Pardon? BLOCKED? Sorry, they tabled the discussion so they could bring it up over and over until it passes (aka biding their time).
Let’s see if we all can remember since the last (R) majority: entitlement creep, NCLB, TSA, DHS, CONTINUING Cont. Resolutions, backstabbing ‘leadership’, folding/capitulation and on and on
Oh, but they stood in ‘solidarity’ against OCare?!! (Let me RUN to the polls ot pull that (R) lever!) Only because their own plan (which, in our Const. Republic, should never be even a THOUGHT in their pointy little heads) [aka Romneycare] was given the beating it so richly deserve(s/d).
Sorry, I won’t vote for ANY party member that doesn’t work within the CONSTITUTION; let alone for a Conservative (which nobody can pin-point a definition). I’ll fill in all the other offices, but if anyone wants MY vote, they earn it.
However, the GOP which ran things under Bush's leadership blocked us from having another major terror attack which everyone across the board had predicted. That's because Bush kept us on offense which is at it should be and he at the same time kept unemployment down. The GDP/spending ratio did not rise.
As far as the TSA moving into train and bus terminals that will have to happen if the Democrats run the war. It would not have happened had the GOP maintained power.
How many Republican Senators have publicly campaigned to REPEAL ObamaCare?
Ted Cruz, for sure.
Any others?
Same shit every election.
I pray Cochran loses.....
More than I hope Mitch is majority leader
they are stealing and destroying not protesting as a rule
I have a “Queen Anne” salute for the RiNO’s...
It involves wearing my kilt, and no underwear...
(yes, let your imagination roam freely...)
Amen
Our disagreement is about when to fight, not who to fight. I say the time is now and you say it is not. I say the people who spent so much time and money to beat the TEA party are my enemies and you say we can tolerate them better than the Democrats. I cite Bush as an example of why RINOs can’t be trusted and you praise him for some of what he did. I could argue with you point by point that Bush was not a good president, but that would be a pointless exercise.
The GOPe threw the gauntlet on the floor, not to the Democrats but to conservatives. They despise us because we threaten their chummy elitist club and relationship with like minded Democrats. They really believe they are part of an entitled ruling class. I’m picking up the gauntlet to let them know I’m not frightened by the boogeymen they create every election. You are choosing to ignore the gauntlet. If you ignore it, they will do it again because they know you won’t pick it up. That is how I read our current situation and it will not change unless we make it change. I say we must do something now and you say ... well, it depends?
Where do you think the GOP is headed but that cliff with flags flying, literally. Oh they are not doing 100mph but 75mph gets you there eventually. And I have heard we must slow the liberals down and wait and wait and wait. Since Reagan and the brief time frame with the Contract with America the Republicans have been on pure defense, decades worth of time on defense. In war when you play defense and that is the only play in your book you will lose. I don’t see anything from the Republicans except more of the same.
When you offer no choice you lose votes. When there is little to no difference between the two major parties except for the price tag, where is the choice here?
If people want to continue to believing the lies and suffering through the never ending attacks on their principles and vote for the Republicans more power too them, I hope they are successful, I really do.
However, the days of pulling a straight Republican ticket ended for me long ago. I would gladly, eagerly vote Republican again if they offered anything that resembled push back against the liberal agenda, but right now all I see and hear from them is “me too, just don’t spend as much and but me too!”
A second party to vote for in American politics would be nice for a change.
I am voting Republican in TX except for U.S. Senate and land commissioner: leaving those races blank.
No argument there - we don't have to help them pump it by allowing the far Left to keep winning. They got us where we are by taking an inch wherever available. Unless we are willing to do likewise, they will keep winning the battle that destroys our Freedom. We can exert ourselves during Primaries, but if we stop because we didn't get who we wanted on the ticket, we are as complicit as the GOPe Congress in our demise.
I’m with you. My senators are John McCain and Jeff Flake. I don’t even know why I bother to pick up a ballot the Republicans here are so crappy.
Even Cruz disagrees with you. He recognizes the value of having the Senate chairs and is campaigning for it.
