This is the shocking moment when a policeman shot an unarmed man during a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt.
Sean Groubert, 31, who as a South Carolina State Trooper at the time of the incident shot Levar Jones on September 4 on Broad River Road, in Richmond County, Columbia.
Groubert ordered Mr Jones to show his driving licence. When he reached into his car to retrieve the document, Groubert started shouting and opened fire with his semi-automatic handgun.

Moral of the story: Don’t reach for your license “aggressively”
Well, score one for their side. That cop should have asked if the subject had his license on his person; if he said it was in the vehicle, then said subject should have been assisted in ‘assuming the position’ on the hood while the cop retrieved it. Now the usual cast of militant race warlords are going to have a ‘legitimate’ reason to strut their pompous asses through the community for the next six months demanding ‘justice’, and the media will practically throw a party for them. All their Trayvon and Ferguson buffonery may get re-legitimized because of one trigger-happy cop.
Is that what we are supposed to do now, assume the position whenever we are dealing with the police?
tryon=Trayvon.. d@mn spellchecker.
I really like the part when after he shot him and the man fell down he kept yelling get on the ground.
I guess (the driver) he’s not supposed to fall down after being shot until given a lawful order.
He fell down in an aggressive fashion.
I feared for my Fife, said Barney, during the party after it was ruled justified.
Is this a joke?
Respect the badge a little, it tends to respect you back.
Yeah, that was a bad outcome on both sides of the incident. LOL
Then the police officer will still think you’re reachjng for a gun and open fire.
How about we go with your first suggestion. Lie on the ground, put your hands behind your back so the officer can interrogate you and go home at night?
25 years ago I was pulled over for a burn out tail light. I was legally carrying concealed. Pistol on my left hip, license in my right back pocket.
I removed my registration and proof of insurance from the glove box and placed both hands on the wheel in the 10 and 2 position.
When the officer approached I said "Officer I am carrying a legally registered concealed firearm, what would you like me to do next?" He asked where it was and where the license was. Het hen told me to use my right hand to open the door from the outside and he took a step back. I got out of the car, assumed the position and he removed the weapon.
I showed him my license and we spent the next 5 minutes talking about 9mm vs. 45 ACP.And we both went hom to our respective wives.
How about "Sir, will you get your license out of the car?"
Respect the badge a little, it tends to respect you back.
How do you respect someone acting like a tyrant?
The militant race war lords are who they are - and despicable pimps. But cops are getting arrogant and out of control too.
Do you allow a cop to search your property any time he feels like it?
“Respect the badge a little, it tends to respect you back.”
****
Hardly. During the past 20 years, every encounter with a cop has involved a speed trap. Each Barney Fife was nearly orgasmic writing a ticket knowing full well that I’d pay.
Meanwhile the unlicensed and uninsured Meximobiles go flying down the road undisturbed because the same police don’t want to stop someone who will not pay.
It isn’t about public safety. It isn’t about respect. It’s about legalized shakedowns by jerks who consider the public to be the enemy and a source of revenue.
Some would say that it beats being shot.
I also recall the days when the "libs" were chanting things like "Better Red than dead".
It looks like the extended campaign to line us up for the slaughter with little resistance is paying off - many who think they're conservative and who believe in the Constitution seem to think that certain cases or personal desires make it OK to throw Freedom under the bus.
Right you are! Time was, we could go to our politicians with this problem of aggressive police and they would attend to it, from the top down. Now they only listen to the money-belching lobby critters.
Good story.
25 years ago, in a different world.
What do you think the outcome would be today?
If you assume the fetal position, the officer will still shoot you because he can’t see your hands.
