COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) An unarmed man shot by a South Carolina trooper during a traffic stop repeated one question through his anguished cries as he lay wounded, waiting for an ambulance: "Why did you shoot me?"
Levar Jones' painful groans and then-Trooper Sean Groubert's reply "Well you dove head first back into your car" were captured by a dashboard camera in the trooper's car.
Groubert had stopped Jones on a seatbelt violation at a Columbia gas station and fired the shots moments after asking Jones for his license

Well, if that is on your list of concerns, let me point you to about 490786663333 other concerns that should occupy your bandwidth ahead of being shot by an over-active LEO. Start with Lois Lerner & co., Benghazi, the liberals on the SC, the President, the ex-AG, Hillary as Pres., etc. My fingers are tired or I would complete the list. You are picking the fly poop out of the pepper, my FRiend.
And, I was a platoon leader in Combat Engineers and, sorry, no one in their right mind would ever protect anyone else "unarmed". Maybe you now help old ladies across the street...fine. Good on you. But, soldiers are armed for a reason. And, if you think disarming the cops is a good idea simply because you were able to "protect" some good guys without arms, you are beyond naive. Tell your friends to cooperate with the cops when they are stopped, don't be a wise-ass, don't act like they have to "dive" for a document, don't try to incite a fight, and gee, they will be fine. And, I am not an LEO.
Of course people do, I don't know why you want to switch to "unarmed", as we discuss this criminal cop, but plenty of us jump in to stop bad guys, even when unarmed, don't let your fears lead you to get all twisted up defending this felony shooting of an unarmed, innocent man.
Already convicted him, eh? “Felony shooting”? The twisted up part is your rush to judgment...
Given this longer clip I can more readily state that the Trooper did not handle the situation correctly.
I am glad for both of them that he is either a bad shot or his intention was not to kill.
It is charged as a felony shooting based on the video evidence, you will have to wait to see if he is convicted.
You appear to be the one rushing to judgement, with no concern for the victim of the felony shooting or that the shooting was done.
Why not look it up for yourself? According to the website working for South Carolina isn't very lucrative. Note that right there at the top is a link to the Affordable Care Act. Isn't that amazing?
And the other one has been fired and is facing charges.
It is your argument, and while you are looking to see true compensation, remember how hard that it is to unravel when it comes to government employees, it can be very difficult to get to the actual, real life figures.
I have a George Costanza wallet that always rides in the console when I’m driving.
Protect himself from what exactly?
Well there is a defined benefit retirement plan that he would have to contribute to. There's also a 401K. They're pushing employees to Obamacare. Sounds like a great place to work.
I have tried to look up cop and firemen packages before for other threads, and I was amazed at how difficult it is to get to the bottom of things.
What looks so modest at first is just the tip of an iceberg, and the averages are hidden by including retirees from 30 years back and such.
“How many of these ridiculous incidents are we supposed to just accept?”
Approximately how many are there?
.
I bet this lucky chap would say 1 too many.
Off the top of my head, no research, The innocent people shot at in the Dorner Hunt, a store clerk shot while running from an armed robber, a woman shot in her own back yard for ‘surprising’ a cop, a guy shot for opening his door armed at 3am to nuts that wouldn’t identify themselves(cops getting the wrong guy again), bad swat raids,...
This list is too easy, and can keep going. And it all has one thing in common. Pigs see no need to address the out of control officers. Nor does that address the other LE issues.
The chief issue is the cavalier attitude of ignoring any criticism toward LE activities. Pigs simply don’t care about the mistakes and unethical behavior. And not one of these ignored incidents is acceptable, except to cops.
But go ahead and pretend there is nothing wrong. That will make the problem go away.
Did you really say “pigs”?
How classy !
.
I had assumed that perhaps you posted in haste the first time, but instead you are now supporting your foolish remarks from earlier in the thread.
You have assumed a loser position and whatever criticism follows directed your way on this matter is certainly deserved.
You are embarrassing yourself.
I’m ever so glad that you are in such an extreme minority here on free republic. Does shoe shine taste good?
You were already told early on you have no point. Zip. Nothing.
Ya see I took the time to view available videos multiple times and my comments were based strictly on those videos.
Anyone can read back. All your initial comments were based on nothing reckless blind support of those in LE.
