Just in the last several years, we've seen Colin Powell endorse Obama, Richard Lugar endorse Michelle Nunn, John Warner endorse Mark Warner, moderate republicans in Kansas have become democrats, and moderate republicans have endorsed democrats for governor, senator and secretary of state, Arlen Specter became a democrat, Charlie Crist became a democrat, Lincoln Chafee became a democrat, John Huntsman is planning on running an independent campaign (probably to thwart conservatives), Lisa Murkowski ran an independent campaign to thwart a conservative, Dede Scozzafava endorsed the democrat to thwart a conservative, and on and on.
Moderate voices are being heard. WE just are not voting for them anymore...because they're democrats. And they can't get elected without US.

Moderates are the road-kill of politics. They don’t have core principles and because of that they are like squirrels on a road running back and forth trying to decide at the last instance which way to go before that big car hits them.
People who write articles or letters to the editor like this are just plain stupid. No question. I don’t see any position that any “conservative” is taking that wasn’t a mainstream position 20 years ago. Its just that politics has moved so far to the Left and wishy-washy dopes like Powell and Lugar and McCain have gone along with it. 20 or 30 years ago, no one would have voted for gay marriage, or open borders or $1 trillion deficits. No one.
Well, once you get a president in office that does everything you ever wanted, there’s really no need to speak up.

Moderates think some perversion is OK. Moderates think marriage is just a tax deduction. Moderates think more government is not necessarily a bad thing.

The choices today are Obama/Hillary cloned leftists/communists and those left-of-middle republicans and a few conservatives.
