With six weeks to go, the fight for control of the Senate is down to five states, four of them currently held by Democrats.
Republicans must win only two of those contests to guarantee the 51 seats they need to control the Senate for the last two years of Barack Obamas presidency. And they need to win only one of the Democratic states if they hold the only GOP seat at serious risk.
While things could still change and national polls continue to show an environment that may produce a substantial GOP wave in the House and Senate the Senate battle has boiled down to two reliably red states and three swing states.

Just as long as the gop-e can keep those troublesome tea party types out of the mix. /s
Thom Tillis has brought in Jeb Bush. Bush and Tillis have a worse record on amnesty than Kay Hagan.
this is war, not a beauty contest and we need to stop obola and his arrogant eric beholden....
of couse we could have done that in 2012 except for so called conservatives looking for their virgin sacrifice.
Conservatives need to fight like heck to nominate real conservatives in the primary. But if a RINO gets the nomination we HAVE to get behind them, because the alternative is unthinkable.
NYSlimes has it 59% chance of GOP takeover.
538 (Nate Silver) has it at 56.9%
“of course we could have done that in 2012 except for so called conservatives looking for their virgin sacrifice.”
Bingo.
Here is my take on these five race:
Arkansas- I think we’ll win this. Mark Pryor’s attempt to accuse Tom Cotton of being soft on the Ebola virus was not only absurd, but it shows desperation. It won’t be a landslide like the 2010 race was, but we’ll probably win.
Louisiana- I’m feeling better about this, too. Bill Cassidy has made no serious errors and Mary Landrieu was embarrassed by a minor traveling scandal. I think she’s lost control of this race.
Alaska- Mark Begich was in command before he falsely blamed Dan Sullivan for the early release of a criminal who is on trial for another murder. Before that, I was skeptical of winning here, but I’m not anymore. IMHO, it’s 50/50 now. But given the state’s leanings and Obama’s unpopularity, 50/50 is not enough for Begich.
North Carolina- This one I’m worried about. Thom Tillis is an uninspiring candidate and faux moderate Kay Hagan has the edge. If the election were held today, she’d win a close race. There’s still some five weeks to go and the undecided vote is hovering around 15%.
Colorado- I was also worried about this, but less so now. Mark Udall and the ‘Rats have harangued voters with feminist talking points, portraying Cory Gardner as a Taliban style misogynist. It’s clearly not working. Right now, I’m predicting a very narrow victory for Gardner.
Agreed. But there are a lot of Losertarians who think otherwise.
The real coup will be getting rid of Harry “The Hack” Reid if the rhinos get the senate.
Colorado is also hating on Hickenlooper by 10 pts. That pretty much sinks Udall, being downticket.
Yeah. The democrats aren’t bluffing when they say they want to lock up climate change deniers. They aren’t bluffing when they say they want to nationalize police under the DOJ. They aren’t bluffing when they say they want a separate set of rules for minorities, women, gays etc. They aren’t bluffing when they say they want to put observers in churches or dictate what churches can preach. They aren’t bluffing when they say they want to take from the “rich” and distribute to the poor. They aren’t bluffing when they say they want to diversify your neighborhood.
And Franken’s starting to look a little green around the gills, too.
NEED SIX Of THESE:
SD - definite
WV - definite
MT - definite
AR - probably
AK - probably
NC - probably
LA - maybe
IA - maybe
CO - maybe
NH - maybe
Can’t figure out Kansas...
:)

Good point.
When Gardner and Udall visited my county, three times as many turned out to see Gardner, the Rep.

Progressives/Liberals are extremely totalitarian.
