As this country requires impartiality for its judges, this smacks of the type of thing that in normal cases is just cause for removal from the bench, doesn't it?
She sure sounds egotistical as well.

Cool!
This means President Cruz will get to nominate her replacement when she croaks!

I understand - not nearly enough pedophile votes there now.

She’s quite critical of the Harry Reid run Senate, I see.

Good for you Ruth Buzzi. Wait until we have a Republican president AND Senate.
To: bestintxas
Ginsburg doesn’t like Harry Reid’s senate?
They must not have enough bat-crap crazy ultra-leftists to suit her.

Quite the opposite. She’s a confirmed liberal but she knows the difference between Rule of Law and Dogma. Her resigning would be our worst nightmare.
To: bestintxas
The only info I want from her is the name of her doctor.
Dx’d with pancreatic cancer & still going strong.
What treatment & meds is she on??

Who do you think President Obama could appoint at this very day, given the boundaries that we have?"With Harry Reid having gone 'nuclear', it would be a breeze to appoint Van Jones, Louis Farrakhan, or Bill Ayers.

Anybody who thinks that if I step down, Obama could appoint someone like me, theyre misguided. By "someone like me," of course you're referring to a jurist who makes decisions based on a political agenda, rather than the Constitution.

Anybody who thinks that if I step down, Obama could appoint someone like me, theyre misguided. HA! I wish that were (was?) true.
The discouraging fact is Ubama could nominate Beelzebub hisself and there would be enough Republicans who would go along with it lest they be called racist.

This is actually a major breach of Court decorum and protocol.
I mean, we all know that Justices like to time their retiring on the ability to see a like-minded replacement, but it was always unstated. This is the first time, to my knowlege, that one of the Justices has stated so explictly.
She’s actually undermining the integrity of the Court with this. Which was probably her intent. Reduce it, as Liberals have tried to do over the last generation, to just another political body.
To: bestintxas
Does she really think the filibuster option for Supreme Court nominees will stay in place if opportunity presents itself to the Dems?

When ACLU Ruthie was nominated, the pubbies didn’t put up a fight. They didn’t like her politics, but felt she was qualified. The dems go nuclear on most pubbie nominees.

She won’t resign while the Dems hold the Senate?
To: SoFloFreeper
Wait until we have a Republican president AND Senate. In which case, we will no doubt STILL be stuck with Obamacare ("mended, not ended"), amnesty, grotesque deficits, crony capitalism and the highest taxes in the Western world.
That is, barring the election of Ted Cruz as president and conservative leadership in the House and Senate -- which I would dearly love to see, but which I doubt will happen short of a diving miracle.
