Barack Obamas approval rating slid into dangerous territory this week, with the latest Reuters-Ipsos poll showing just 35 percent of Americans approve of the presidents job performance even as he leads the nation into a war against Islamic fundamentalism in the Middle East.
Fifty-eight percent of Americans expressed disapproval of the White Houses current occupant 37 percent of them strongly. Just 17 percent strongly approved of Obamas current performance. The poll is based on a five-day rolling average.
The White House has struggled under a series of escalating foreign-policy crises, at times appearing to flail for a response to Islamic State brutality and the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine. The poll likely does not reflect reaction to the administrations broad air attack on Islamic State targets in Syria, conducted Monday night and slated to continue for the foreseeable future.
Hence the need to “show the flag.”
Yep, the reason for the bombing.
Paging Wolf Blitzer!
Wow; can’t wait to see the network news tout these numbers!
And, I’m still waiting....
Most assuredly, his latest EO on glowbull climate change he gave, directly, to the UN will give him a big bump in Approval...
He sucks. QED
Still way higher than he should be. 3.5 would be more appropriate.
Oh please. It's only "dangerous territory" when a Republican president slides into it.
When a Democrat rings up those numbers, he's doing what's right even though it's unpopular. It's Profiles in Courage Award territory.
Rich Lowry commented on FoxNews this morning that the bombing of ISIS is related to the falling Obama polls. [Obama is trying to look tough before the midterm elections.]
Steam came out of Alan Colmes’ ears as he seethed at those remarks.
Wag the Dog! Wag the Polls.
At least he'll never slip below 13%.
Way back when the networks thought low presidential polls numbers should be the lead story.
Let’s acknowledge this report with a styrofoam cup salute!
CNN ran a streamer headline an hour or so ago claiming that the US had stopped several potential attacks. The headline claimed that some planes actually had bombs on them.
I have not seen any confirmation, nor is anything on the CNN website.
He would wag the dog, but unfortunately he ate it.
Yup
Prolly smelled like douche.
Waving the flag is a no go for this guy. People that like him hate the flag and people that hate him will never buy it. His real problem is his success in polarization. Nobody is on the he fence anymore.
