The 15 Most Shocking Statements in ObamaCare Architect's 'Die at 75' Article
Breitbart Big Government ^ | 9-22-14 | John Nolte

Posted on 09/23/2014 4:06:15 AM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

Last week, esteemed doctor and one of our ObamaCare Architect Overlords penned a column for the Atlantic that should win a Pulitzer Prize for passive-aggressive shaming. Although Emanuel claims that *he* doesn't want to live past the age of 75, the article itself could have been a listicle titled, "Top 15 Reasons No One Over 75 Should Receive Healthcare."

Emanuel even includes a monstrous but brightly colored graph that is meant to tell anyone over 75 that their "last contribution" to society likely occurred more than a decade ago.

Good God.

The phrase "the banality of evil" gets bandied about a lot. Emanuel's column, which in reality is a public service announcement meant to begin a debate about the way in which we prioritize healthcare, takes the prize in that department.

And yes, Emanuel's article is an act of evil, written by a soulless bureaucrat with no respect or compassion for the individual. Emanuel's only concern is for the collective, the State. And he is exactly the kind of "medical professional" many feared would grab hold of our healthcare system if the Federal government got their hands on it -- which it now has.

Thanks Obama!

Leftists like Emanuel don’t see human life as anything more than utilitarian. They see nothing special or unique or inviolable about the Individual or life itself.

By Emanuel ‘s logic anyone not paying into the system should be denied health care. Therefore anyone on welfare or not paying into the system, should be denied health care. This seems the avenue to attack this fool.

Is this a quote or are you on the wrong site?

My dad is working because he WANTS to, he's not one to sit in a rocking chair.

Awesome! My dad works because he is bored when he’s at home. My mom couldn’t keep their big house anymore. To much work. So they down-sized. So dad has nothing else to keep him busy. He likes his job.

From the comments to this article:

“The fact that this man was even allowed in the room for the healthcare debates is scary. The fact that he lead the debates tells you just how screwed up the law IS!”

Perfect.

I read this yesterday, not realizing who he was.

As I read article I wondered what he had to do with the annointed one.

I second your words.

I have been working nearly fulltime since I was 12 (parents owned a restaurant).

I have been paying in to SS for more than 40 years and I cannot retire and draw from it for seven more (@62).

Not that I’m a fan of SS, I wish I had control of my own money...

Medicare, besides not being for those other groups of people, is only supposed to be Part A, which covers only the most serious illnesses. If it were just part A, and only for qualified seniors, I'd think it would be solvent.

Let private insurance companies offer parts B and D to seniors, to those who want them. The insurance companies without government propping them up will keep prices in line.

Why should the gov subsidize people who are always running to the doctors and take drugs for everything? The cost of those drugs would go down if people actually had to pay for the stuff. JMHO

And probably sheds light on the thinking of the Mayor of Chicago too.

Who is man, any man, to decide his own or any other man’s value to society?

You make a good point; the pertinent point in the argument. One has to wonder what these people would say if another man decided that they were of no worth to society and decided to rid it of them. When confronted directly with the argument and the business end of a gun, what would come across their lips? I think it would be first incredulous-ness that any man would judge their worth, followed by groveling for their life.

As I read this article I thought about my 81 year old mother. She recently had a mastectomy and chemo.

She has bounced back and resumed her normal, active life. Works a couple days a week in the church. Cooks for the sick. Is shopping for new car and planning a trip to Europe next summer.

I think she is more alive than the author.

If you initiate it at 75, it goes until 85 If you initiate it at 21, it goes until 31

Then you are on your own...

So do we still have to contribute for our whole working lives?
And, if not, how can a 21 year old get anything since he can't have put much of anything into the system?

Emmanuel is a very very sick guy, and I don’t mean physically. His is a diseased brain

So does his brother. One has to really wonder what in the Hell was going on in that household when they were growing up.

Here is the primary evil of the original article: “...forces each of us to ask whether our consumption is worth our contribution.”

Sounds a lot like “useless eaters.”

This, truly, is the end result of leftist/statist policies.

I have been reading Paul Johnson’s “Modern Times” and an amazed again at the parallels between the Axis Powers and today’s liberal ideology as expressed by Obama and his cult.

Obamascare axiom: Old people never seem to die, they just get in the way.

Democrat former governor of Colorado Richard Lamm thirty years ago declared, seriously ill old people have a duty to die.

"You old people.. don't you love America? Then die already!" Obama-scare.

He is just a good Nazi

The Nazi in addition to killing Jews, the targeted groups included Ukrainians (of whom 3 million approximately were killed), Poles (2.5 million) and other Slavic peoples; Soviets (particularly prisoners of war); Romani people (also known as Gypsies) and others who did not belong to the Aryan Herrenvolk (Master Race) such as people with mental disorders, the deaf, the physically disabled, those with learning disabilities; gay men (and occasionally lesbians), transgender people; political opponents (such as communists, social democrats, socialists, anarchists and others with left-wing political views); and religious dissidents.

Yes. In addition to 6 million Jews, the Nazis gassed 6 million Catholics, including priests and nuns.

Per Roosevelt, Social Security was designed to pull people capable of working out of the workforce...to permenantly reduce the participation rate. So Emanuel wants to subject those to whom that was applied to then be put at risk of euthanasia for treatable medical issues.
