Ironically, they are also very legalistic.
Instead of *you can’t raise your hands*, it’s *you must raise your hands*.
If you don’t experience Christianity in the way they prescribe, you aren’t really *saved* or *filled with the Holy Spirit*.
It’s a different perspective from the old Baptist mentality. They judge you not based on what you don’t do (don’t drink, smoke, cuss or chew) but based on what you do do, (speak in tongues, fall over and shake, raise your hands is worship).
Same mindset though, one of judging and determining if you’ve *arrived* or not.
I agree.
The Technics used are simple. Charismatic speaker with a rhythmic delivery. Music, lights, willing participants. A textbook method to create mass hysteria.
In the Army, we used the same methods to spin up troops for bayonet drill. “What is the Spirit of the bayonet? KILL, MAIM, MUTILATE.” I tell you after we whipped em up you didn’t want be in front of them with a target on your chest!
I have been to a hypnotist stage show, participated in and lead bayonet training, and been to a few Pentecostal services (pretty lady involved) and the methods are identical.
So is that from God or from man?
yup
