Minnesota Somali-Americans protested last week demanding pork-free food products from their welfare food bank.
“It’s about human rights also, basic human rights to get the proper food and also healthy food,” said Imam Hassan Mohamud.
“Some food shelves are trying to meet the need, but some of them already got canned beans that have already been mixed with pork — and there is a literacy issue here,” said community activist Fartun Weli.
With signs in hand, they marched to the Hennepin County commissioners’ office to ask Peter McLaughlin for help. Most live in his district and feel he can help them help themselves.
McLaughlin and the group disagree over the availability of halal or kosher food at food shelves in Minnesota.
He did say they would need to petition all county commissioners for the money to make this food shelf a reality.
So let Muzzies start their own damn food banks.
"When donating to your local food pantry, be sure to remain sensitive, and only donate meals that are Halal."
And the PSA will of course be PAID for by Minnesotans, too.
I think that the government should mandate that, in fairness to our barn yard friends, that all food sold in this country contain beef, chicken, pork etc.
It is the Muslim way to demand that everyone bow to their needs.

Hormel is owned by Jennie-O (or maybe Hormel recently bought Jennie-O, can’t remember which way it went), a local turkey processing company. The founder, Earl B. Olson, was very generous towards the community and the freezers in our local food shelf are full of Jennie-O products. The company also employs a ton of Somalian muslims here and a few years ago they switched from lard to Crisco for greasing all the equipment in the plant where the turkey products are processed as requested by their muslim employees. I would have told them to take a hike, but Jennie-O did not. Don’t think Hormel products will be finding their way to food shelves any time soon.
:) I’ve been tempted to do that but never wanted the mess.
