After a long, unapologetic effort to defeat Tea Party candidates in GOP primaries, the Washington establishment will likely need Tea Party voters in November to help swing several tight Senate races and win control of the upper chamber.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee on Friday dismissed the notion that party voters are not united behind their candidates. Can you point to a race ? Its a false narrative,
Kevin Broughton, spokesman for the Tea Party Patriots singled out a few races, particularly in Kansas and Mississippi, but suggested his troops will rally for the general election.
Broughton said they will focus on such grassroots efforts as get-out-the-vote, instead of buying TV or other media spots.
All six Republican senators who faced promising Tea Party-backed challenges won their primaries, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who in March boldly predicted he and the rest of the Washington establishment would crush far-right advocacy groups and their candidates.
I dont think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country, the five-term Kentucky Republican told The New York Times.
The other wins came in Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Kansas, where the NRSC helped incumbent GOP Sen. Pat Roberts to victory with more than 40,000 phone calls in the final three weeks of his campaign.
In Mississippi, Tea Party-backed candidate Chris McDaniel forced GOP incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran -- who had strong inside-the-beltway financial and grassroots support -- into a runoff to retain his seat.
Politico described the contest as a flashpoint in the GOP civil war.

The disastrous 2014 performances by conservative candidates in GOP primaries (David Brat and the Senate candidate in NE being the exceptions) makes me understand now why Richard M. Nixon knew to “run to the right” in the primary and to “the middle” (left) in the general election. There aren’t enough conservatives any more to nominate, much less elect.
You have truly gone too far
Did you not see the adds - Texas’ own RINO John Wayne McCornin is just like one of us

Boehner and Mitch can kiss my ass.
Not sure who I HATE more, obammy or these two maggots/.

The 1st quarter of ‘06 saw 4.8% growth in GDP. Then came demos running for control of congress promising “CHANGE.” They won, and after 2 years in power, things HAVE “CHANGED” GDP growth dropped to negative 6%. Happy with your “CHANGE?”

The nation still had a AAA credit rating

Thad Cochran and Boss Hog Barbour can count on those Black Democrats who voted by the thousands for Cochran in the run-off race. So they don’t need conservative votes.
There’s a lot of “TEA PARTY” out there that fronts for the GOPe.
Its time for a new authentic third party structure and leadership that is sane and responsible like Nigel Farage and UKIP in the UK.
Ted Cruz or Mike Lee as Senate Majority Leader. That's my bottom line.
We have a toehold with a few good conservatives in congress. We need to continue to battle for more. There is very definitely a difference between the Marxists and the beltway boys. Anyone who is for throwing in the towel and letting the Marxists keep control is worse than a RINO.
Exactly - the last time the RNC/GOP asked for a donation, I told them that no only would I not send money, but that I would vote against Cochran because to vote for him would be the same as submitting to, and condoning the betrayal.
Still mulling over how I'll vote, but have my fingers crossed that McDaniel gets his way (our way) with the MS Supreme Court.

The collapse of the country is a bipartisan problem since the GOPe does not want to undo the programs and agencies, the loans and so on that the Democrats pushed through.
“We” does not include me when it comes to the Republican Party machine and its leaders etc.
The Democrats talk progressive rhetoric, but take money from the big business special interests and get support from the likes of Buffett.....they aren’t as much Marxists in their policies as they are crony capitalists with Progressive dressing like birth control, abortion, extended coverage for children till age 26 in Obamacare.
Both parties are bad and support the establishment of economic order in the world, they are debating the edges of issues, there are no substantial differences. D’s and R’s are backed by interests that want “order” in the world.
Obamacare and Immigration Reform (Amnesty) help establish order in the the US and the world and that’s why both parties support it in the end and only debate the details of how both policies are implemented.
Putin is rocking the boat of that order and the Chinese aren’t bending over for it either, so we are in trouble with Russia and headed for trouble with China.
It's true what you say. I view crony capitalism as just another form of central planning. An all powerful government masquerading as a free market economy.
When Canada had an outsider conservative party splitting votes with the RINO party and the Liberal Party had absolute power, the Liberals flubbed it with crony infrastructure deals and tried to implement a “gun registry” that failed completely.
A deal was eventually cut on a new conservative party that now rules the country and the Liberals fell apart.
Apples and bowling balls. With respect, I do not think you understand the nature of what is in power now in the country and the mindset and ideology of those in the highest offices in the land.
We're not dealing with civil servants that have as principle, the maintenance of a civil society. Rather, as evidenced, we are dealing with ideologues who have as an objective; the TEARING DOWN of the civil society. How can you hope such people will allow themselves to be limited in a civil manner when they control the courts and the system they have corrupted for themselves?
We're now being ruled by an ideology that sees itself as a tool of revolution and fundamental transformation. History teaches that such ideologies are responsible for atrocity and genocide in establishing themselves as the sole authority over those they subjugate.
A meddlesome tyranny for the good of the people is often the most widely accepted and often the most brutal.
Our liberties will have to be fought for if we wish to retain what is left of them and the ideology working to strip them from us, will use violence either directly or by proxy to prevent us from succeeding.
So my point is, what is your point?
We are not going to slow, stop or reverse what is happening to us via civil means. If we hang our hats on the false belief that amending the Constitution will achieve what we seek in a civil manner, we are ignorant of the power we are attempting to restrain and put a yoke back upon.
I ask again, where do you stand on Article V?
DO IT, with the full expectation that the restraints the states will pass are going to be resisted, ignored and struck down by a lawless government oligarchy if the process itself is not corrupted, usurped and thwarted.
Perhaps it will be the final evidence that wakes up enough people that we have no civil recourse left to us.
Article V should happen, perhaps with the public explanation that these Amendments will be implemented by force if necessary - and perhaps that threat might dissuade some in power from doing what I think they intend to do anyway.
This is NOT the first time we have been 'roughed up' by the Establishment Ruling Class of the GOP.
Plus you IGNORE that the LEADER of the GOP in the Senate has declared WAR on Conservatives and vowed to 'crush them wherever we find them" while vowing to make sure Conservatives never have another candidate in a general election.
What part of that do you willfully fail to comprehend and understand? Or are you just a GOP Party Hack?
There is very definitely a difference between the Marxists and the beltway boys.
Yes, the difference is how fast we get to absolute corrupt totalitarianism and despotism since that is the goal of both.
Anyone who is for throwing in the towel and letting the Marxists keep control is worse than a RINO.
Anyone who is in for electing RINOs as a measure of salvation is worse than a Marxist.
bump
Of course they want to crush us because they know we are determined to replace them with true conservatives.
Anyone who is for throwing in the towel and letting the Marxists keep control is worse than a RINO.
Anyone who is in for electing RINOs as a measure of salvation is worse than a Marxist.
You are arguing like a troll if you think RINOs are worse than Marxists.
The beltway boys are professional politicians that have become corrupted and need to be replaced as soon as we can get them out of there.
The Marxists are similar to the muslims in that their goal is a one world government, run by themselves. They have slowly eaten away at our constitution and hollowed out our government, our laws, our culture, and our morals.
All that's left is the final coup de grâce to turn us into Europe. It doesn't matter if your hiding in a gated community or in the back woods, you are going down with us.
Excellent! Just excellent!
Canadians deserve good leadership and a sound nation.
