Liam Neeson, legendary Irish actor and star of such films as Takenand Non-Stop, does not identify with the hardcore, gun-toting action heroes he so often portrays.
"I am totally for gun control in the U.S.," Neeson said in an interview with The Independent. "The population of America is roughly 300 million and there are 300 million guns in this country, which is terrifying."
Neeson criticized the National Rifle Association's response to the 2012 shooting in Newton, Connecticut, which the actor summarized as, "If that teacher had been armed..."
"It's crazy," Neeson said. "I'll give Britain its dues, when they had the Dunblane massacre in Scotland, within 24 hours the gun laws were changed so you could not have a handgun."
Neeson became an official U.S. citizen five years ago. He says of the Constitution: "It is the right to bear arms which is the problem. I think if the Founding Fathers knew what was happening they would be turning in their graves with embarrassment at how that law has been interpreted."
I think he changed his mind but just the idea that he even thought about it is reason enough for me to boycott his films

Virtual Globetrotting indicates this is one of Liam Neeson's homes...you wanna bet he has state of the art security and weaponry protecting it?
Liam is a hypocrite.
So, Liam Neeson is a muzzie and he wants Americans to disarm eh? Eff him and the goat he humps.
Yeah, another one for the boycott list.
It really irks me when these actors don’t learn a damn thing from the roles they play, of better men than they are in real life.
His wife, the lovely Natasha Richardson, died in a skiing accident.
Hey Liam, wanna ban skiing?
While I’m not crazy about the politics of Jason Alexander, his character George Costanza was right. Jon Voight is better than Liam Neeson.
That article says he went through with it.
I never consider the opinion of people who dress up and play pretend for a living. About anything.
Why would I give a rat’s hindquarters what a European thinks about US laws and policies?
Oh, okay. Thanks.
What a moron he is.
No need to call the British dumbasses, that was my problem. Criticism of the gun laws here is fair.
As to the police, the police initially with no reports of a gun being mentioned to them, when it was noted, the armed unit was sent for. Please note that its police procedure to do so. Also note the original coppers were armed with a 50,000 volt stun gun, so they weren’t unarmed. They could and should have used it, but were ordered to wait for the armed unit, as they had reported (by sight) that Rigby was clearly dead already. Had he been injured or fighting the men, the police would have charged in with batons and the stun gun.
The original coppers were there in 2-3m, the armed unit arrived in 9m.
Has he converted to Islam yet?
Then you don't know JACK SQUAT Neeson.
The founders of the United States of America knew all too well that disarming the populace was a crucial step towards tyranny.
Where I do agree with Neeson is that they would be turning in their graves, though it would be with anger. All of them, even those who were advocates of a strong federalism, would be aghast and speechless if they they saw what the limited government of the constitution they fought for has been turned into.
legendary?
Screw Liam Neeson and the camel he road in on.....
He doesn’t get to decide the “interpretation” of the 2nd...
