After declaring war on the Tea Party and often showing nothing but contempt for grassroots conservatives that powered Republicans to record gains in the 2010 midterm elections, Karl Rove whined that the GOP may not take back the Senate this year because of the lack of enthusiasm for his establishment-approved candidates.
Writing in the Wall Street Journal, Rove notes that even though Obama's "job approval numbers are lousy, no Democrat in a competitive Senate race polls regularly above 50%, GOP enthusiasm is high, and independents are trending Republican... each passing day provides evidence as to why a GOP Senate majority is still in doubt."
After declaring war on conservatives and the Tea Party last year, Rove now realizes that the very voters the establishment trashed are not donating to more moderate and establishment Senate candidates in states like North Carolina and Colorado. Rove says that "Republican candidates and groups must step up" to reduce the fundraising gap with Democrats. He said "Republicans must reach a certain sufficiency of advertising in the next six weeks" to "tip the needle in the GOP's direction."

Looks like u r a big Rove fan.
Gee, you mean GOP-e didn't learn that lesson in 2006, 2008, and 2012? By extension, they also didn't learn the lesson of 2010, when the Tea Party gave them the House of Representatives.
It took me a decade to turn my Hispanic in-laws into reliable conservatives. I did it by a sustained defense of core principles, something lacking in today's Republican party. The only core principle that I can see with the GOP is to keep their incumbents in office.
There is a notion in the GOP-e that if they manage to nominate liberal candidates, the base will have no choice but to vote for the liberal candidate. A bit of this slipped through in an interview of Mitt Romney, when the interviewer asked him about the conservatives who are not happy with him. He replied that they have no other choice but to vote for him.
This may work for a lot of the base, with the fear tactics and bullying. However, the enthusiasm and motivation will not be there. Moreover, there will be a significant segment who actually will need more than the fear tactics and bullying, as a motivating factor.
The overwhelming amount of money that establishment candidates have in the primaries, compared to their cash poor new comer opponents, is not a factor in the general election, where the democrat opponent is also well funded. Dollar bills don't go out and vote. You actually need people to be motivated to go out and vote on a cold, rainy day.
The GOP-e and their "republican strategists/consultants" are ruining the party.
I expect the same thing will happen with votes.
To Hell with the damn GOP.
Make them earn it >:(
They are the ones who need YOU
Uniparty Ping!
So the moderates and liberals you vote for are going to magically place conservatives in leadership roles.
As long as you’re dreaming, would you like a pony?
"But for the Tea Party, you'd be nothing, as you were before," (Mark) Levin told the GOP establishment.
And now he is the equivalent of a "Sideshow Bob."
.
Soooo, you like being called a racist extremist tea bagger by your own party “leadership” and are willing to keep voting for people who call you that?
“Karl Rove is a sad, fat, little $hit who is either a crypto-socialist or a amoral, self-serving grifter. Maybe he is both.”
One of the enduring legacies of the great compassionate conservative, George W. Bush.
Rove now realizes...
This is the brain at the top of GOP strategy?
Who are these 4 million republicans who stayed home? And if they stayed home, how did Romney get so many more votes than McCain did?
No soup for you! The gop-e can rot for all I care. T^ine and money only to Conservatives.
Then it is simply a matter of getting the right people in leadership positions over time to carry the agenda.LOL! Karl is that you?
How soon we forget. It wasn't that long ago we put in the the "compassionate conservative" who brought "a new tone". We had all the branches we even had judges...you know like Roberts, the one that rammed Obamacare down our throats.
Never again. Whether we stay home or vote, the end result is the same with the E-republican
"Discarding" is one thing; but, these people openly ridiculed and insulted their base. I sent my Republican Party card back to them and I will not be giving one red cent to them again, ever. These people, these non-elite, common people, are the very people who went out and did stuff for the party. They are the ones who donate money, time, effort for the Party. And, what did they get, snide comments and insults.
Well, now they have the vanilla candidates that they wanted. How's that working out -- well, mastermind Rove is now whining about our lack of participation.
Sometimes, Mr. Rove, you need to support one of our guys, and not work with the Democrats and the media to defeat them.
Rove is an idiot and a terrible advisor for Bush. How did he ever get well thought of?
He was a fairly decent strategist.
But he got it in his head somewhere that the RNC/GOP doesn’t “Need” conservatives to win.

It is not the same. Are you really a Democrat making mischief? Majority First and then work from within. Otherwise become Democrat and try to take over that party. Which direction is most likely to be successful?
I hate Rove and his sell out to the COC but I have worked campaigns long enough to know their is more influence as part of the majority than as a minority within a minority.
No, I don’t but I look at the long game instead of immediate gratification.
Long game as in the RINO always is who we get because the RNC/GOP can always count on people supporting the RINO.
