The Senate approved a continuing resolution for the budget which included a provision authorizing President Obama to arm and train Syrian rebels for the purpose of combating Islamic State terrorists.
The legislation passed 78-22.
Of the 22 Senators that voted no, here are the 12 Republicans that voted against the provision:
John Barrasso (WY) Tom Coburn (OK) Michael Crapo (ID) Ted Cruz (TX) Mike Enzi (WY) Dean Heller (NV) Mike Lee (UT) Jim Moran (KS) Rand Paul (KY) James Risch (ID) Pat Roberts (KS) Jeff Sessions (AL)

As I recall, out helping the moo-ja-hadeen in A-stan sure worked out well for us. So, I suppose once john f'n kohn-heinz-kerry gets the Syrian folks to sign a promise to never, ever, ever use the training or weapons agains the U.S. we should be all good to go.
Kansas did good. I’m kind of surprised Moron voted against.
Should have been a lot more! ISIS came from arming Syrian Opposition.
Arming these 7th Century savages won’t end well.
I don’t see John Cornyn (TX) on that list.
It figures though. He’s a RINO all the way.
It’s just beyond stupid that America is going to send weapons to these people, it’s going to come back at us.
Bet on it.
My representative (Posey) voted “no” but my Senator (Rubio) abdicated his responsibility and voted “yes.”
Sen Cruz did the right thing. Sen Cornball did not....as usual. Reminder that Cornball is only conservative during campaign season.
On this vote certainly a list of Senate heroes.
It doesn’t make ANY sense.
In his wildest pharmaceutical nightmare, “O” couldn’t have dreamed up a more outrageous Liberal wet dream!!!
NO ONE knows where those weapons are going and no one sure as hell knows anything about the so-called “rebel groups” who will be receiving them. I’m sure half of these weapons will wind up on the black market within 2 weeks.
Yeah and I don’t see Richard Burr [NC] on it either.
Last I heard “Syrian Rebels” declared some sort of truce is IS?ISIS?ISIL? whatever they are calling themselves today.
The only thing we are doing is arming the opposition against Assad. They are danged fools to think they will be a shred of help against ISIL.
Boneheaded move, I am thinking.
Good for Joe Moran. No more money to Islamists of any stripe.
I see Rand Paul voted No.
Bill Posey is a good upstanding gentleman. We talked often when he was still my Rep. Love his Chevelle. Now I have Mark Amodei here in NV as my rep. I need to get to know him better.
Predictably, neither Saxby Chambliss or Johnny Isakson is on that ist.
Those who voted yea won’t be able to hide their votes.
One overall strategy that the West should have constantly in mind is that, in their fight against “militant” Islam, they can never and should not fully depend on the support and allegiance of “peaceful” Islam.
This is because both forms of Islam get their spiritual marching orders from the same book, the Koran, which clearly commands to not strike up friendship with infidels and to even behead them.
The West is now in the dilemma to have to fight rattlesnakes with cobras as allies.
The reality is that WE HAVE NO FRIENDS in our fight against Islam.
Look at the history of Islam vis-à-vis the West for the last 1400 years — it ain’t gonna change.
