Obama does not want to win his new Iraq war. He cant afford to. If the projection of American military power successfully solved the problem of Islamic terrorism, it would shatter Obamas entire worldview.
A pragmatist would welcome victory regardless of its origins. Sadly, America is stuck with the most rigid ideologue ever to occupy the White House.
Obama adheres to a transnational progressive morality that has replaced Good versus Evil with Weak versus Strong. As the strongest nation on the planet, America is viewed not as its last best hope, but the chief among oppressors. He has been steeped in this intellectual environment from birth.

If the operation in Iraq is successful then Bush by extension is successful and the democrats will not let that happen. They will kill millions before they allow Bush to be seen as right.
He never won it. That was done by others. But he did lose it.
Winning a war would take the shine right off that Nobel Peace Prize.
I find it amazing what liberals are willing to “pay” for their self-righteousness.
You have to really twist the enemies’ arm to win. But most of what most recent politicians care about is having some missiles or drones to say, “at least I did something!”

Ironically for Obama, destruction of DC, LA, Chicago and Philadelphia would remove a lot of libs from the gene pool and make the US a much more conservative country.
