LOL! The choices were kinda lame...but as long as there is pie......
GROUNDED????
Does that mean I can’t go out for the weekend?
It isn’t a ‘Diner’ if it has Waiters.
It isn’t a ‘Diner’ if it closes.
It isn’t a ‘Diner’ if there isn’t at least 1 2 generation waitresses, possible 3.
It isn’t a ‘Diner’ if there isn’t a counter.
A ‘Diner’ has at least 1 waitress whose feet hurt.
A ‘Diner’ has at least 1 waitress who is ‘waiting’ for the other job. Go back in a year and she is still there, still working hard.
A ‘Diner’ is like a neighborhood bar. Each one you visit you will see the same ‘character(s)’ just a different town, different establishment.
If you go in a ‘Diner’ and act right, they will treat you like they have known you your entire life.
A ‘Diner’ in the South is the heart of the town (at night) and you can always tell how many Police or Deputies on duty
as when the ‘stranger’ with those out of state plates sits down the local duty LEO will stop by or at least ‘cruise’ the parking lot.
That is (or was) Americana at its finest......
Today, I tried to teach him guitar, but he isn’t ready.
So we will stick to piano and voice for a while.
We were going to try two lessons a week, but the scheduling just wouldn’t permit it.
His dad gave me an old guitar which i refurbished (i told you about that), and I totally restrung, repaired and set up his Gibson SG Electric. The SG dates back to Les Paul himself, who wasn’t happy with the design, and so would not allow it to carry the “Les Paul” logo. (”SG” stands for “Special Guitar”)
But I like it as much, if not more than the Traditional Les Paul. It is much lighter, and has a double cutaway for some really speedy playing in the upper register.
Frank Zappa’s favorite!
My first electric guitar was a custom SG which I had to sell to pay the mortgage. Whoever has it now can be confident that it is now worth five figures.
I kid you not.
I now have a particularly nice 2009 Les Paul Custom. I spread the cost over four credit cards.
Have you ever visited a Long Island Diner?
Quite an experience.
.
Good evening, Janey...((HUGS))...job hunting continues?
Enjoying the down time while you can?
You Are Free Wheeling |
You are deeply grateful and appreciative. You're thankful for the life you have. Your thoughts are big and bold. Your mind has no inhibitions. You don't like to make plans or predictions. You are sure of yourself but unsure of where life will take you. |
Indeed it is the PERFECT diner! :)
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Rain expected all week.
“You don’t like to make plans...”
Soooo YOU! :) (((hugs)))
Hai! Ya, feelers out, former boss helping. He got me re-certified in Citations I flew before. Enjoying my down time and visiting friends in Seattle.
Well, then...ya didn’t fail after all! With pie you’re always a winner! :D
Some truth in spontaneity.
Well, what do you know, Publius, I am Grounded, also.
I knew we had something in common besides being FReepers and Atlas Shrugged fans.
Sure is. You just take things as they come. I like that about you! :)
....at least that’s how you seem. :)
What else can one do?
Fret and worry...which is the wrong things to do. :)
