US to send 3,000 troops to Ebola danger zone as Obama administration shuffles mission in Africa

The United States government is sending thousands of military troops to the west African nation of Liberia as part of the Obama administration's Ebola virus-response strategy, the White House said late Monday night.

....'A general from U.S. Army Africa, the Army component of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), will lead this effort, which will involve an estimated 3,000 U.S. forces.'

My take: ebola has gone airborne and this will mostly be a mop-up operation. Troops will be prepared to shoot civilians in a World War Z scenario.

Send the troops there in speedos...have them hug the families ill with ebola and kiss them a lot in order to show them that the US soldier has compassion. The only use for troops in a plague zone is to form a barrier to seal in those affected. Placing them inside a plague zone to serve as police, is merely to expose them also, to a disease for which we have no vaccination.

After Ebola rages through our military, it will rapidly become useless. All it will take is one sick sailor on a ship or on a base to throw an entire ship or base into strict quarantine for months - and then one can only hope more don't catch it or the mortality will likely rise to close to 100% as it spreads. There is no cure and local base facilities will be completely inadequate to handle an epidemic of this deadly a nature.

Then when our military becomes ineffective, it will be time for 0bama to have his "civilian army" take over and bring "control" to America, right? How diabolical can it get?

No. What is needed is a strict and serious quarantine of all of these African countries. Do not allow anybody presently in them to travel over their borders. Period. Send them supplies but do not allow any travel to or from these areas.

Sending our military in there is exactly the wrong move which is why the Kenyan is probably doing it. It will end up destroying our military once the infections start.

With their biological warfare gear and training in proper decontamination techniques, they are the best people to send into such a situation.

We have civilians with such experience, gear, and training. The reason that the military is being sent in is that they must follow orders. They have no choice. I doubt very many civilians would volunteer for this mission.

If you have done much of any reading on this you would know those West African countries are NOT able to manage the situation. If someone doesn’t manage it, everyone is in danger. The America military is trained for this, and is the best suited, most available force to do so.

So how are a few thousand Americans going to make a difference? The American military is not trained for this mission. We have CDC to perform this function. And where is the rest of the world? This is a grandstanding ploy by Obama.
