“So she was within her rights to tell the cop to buzz off, and he did not have probable cause to arrest her.”

She was part of the investigation, a suspect in a crime, having sex in the street, in public.

I would imagine that will be happening...just to boost the ratings of whatever show this “actress” is in.

In the video the cop is very restrained and just asked for an ID. People had called about this woman and her friend in a car messing around. Immediately after being detained the race card was handed out by the woman.

Actually, they were not messing around, they were getting right down to business and having very steamy, very public sex in the passenger seat of their car with the door open.

The cops were responding to multiple complaints from bystanders who were forced to watch the spectacle and were appalled.

The fact that people mistook Miss ‘Django Unchained’ for a street hooker is understandable because she looked and acted like a street hooker.

She could have made it so much easier on herself.

Police Officer: “Miss, are you here on your own accord?”

Watts: “No, I’m here in my boyfriend’s Mercedes.”

There is a duty to give ID when you are involved in an illegal act- which is having sex in public.

Quite understandable that people thought she was a ho because she was having sex in semi-public like a ho would.

If you don’t want to be mistaken for a ho then don’t carry on like one. I await her lawsuit. This will be good.

It’s truly amazing to see these stories go sideways or flip upside down before it is explained what really took place.

Everyone is all a-flutter over at one site asking if we have advanced at all in white/black relations. One asks if black women will ever be good enough for white men.

Then you find out they were doing the nasty in full sight of the public.

Oh, never-mind, it was just an Emily Latella moment.

What is the saying, “The lie gets half way round the world, before the truth puts it’s pants on.”

Whatever the saying, here’s an instance where it applies, and getting the tooth-paste back in the tube will be impossible.

People who love to game the race issue will have gotten their jollies out of it, have convinced blacks and others that this was massive racism in action.

Ho hum, another day in Race Central U. S. A.

I'm shocked at the lack of respect for rules.

There. Now we can establish Guilt or Innocence.

The best part is when she is talking on her cellphone. Cop tries to get her ID and she just keeps talking and starts walking away from the cop as in...... F U, stop hassling me......

What a disrespectful sense of entitlement/ She’s such a bird brain its hilarious

The minute I saw her crying, I thought “she’s an ACTRESS!” The idiots on CNN were all sympathetic to the trashy woman since she was upset.

The media acts like this is the police’s fault, a 911 call was made by someone complaining about these two doing some weird hanky panky in the car..just look at the way this woman is dressed, Ive seen homeless people who dress better. Something tells me she set this up to get a TV or movie roll. She had just left CBS Studios, what kind of actress goes to a studio company dressed like a damn hobo

Next time she wants to get frisky in public, MS Watts might want to consider dressing and looking a little nicer so onlookers go WOW! and keep watching instead of going EWWWWW.... and callin’ the cops.

Just sayin’

Uncle Miltie, I appreciate you coming to the defense of this obviously innocent young. LOL

Wish she’d use a little better judgment about where she fools around. I think this sort of thing devalues a woman.

A respectful man may want what he wants, but he uses good judgment regarding the person he truly respects.

This doesn’t say much for this man’s respect or love for her IMO.

TMZ has the police audio today. Apparently she uses the race card immediately. Then asks the cop if he knows who she is.

See TMZ for the audio.

GENERALLY, if police have a reasonable suspicion (such as a phone call), you need to provide ID. However, it’s NOT clear in California. See #41

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_and_identify_statutes

“The California Peace Officers Legal Sourcebook (”CPOLS”; written by the office of the California Attorney General) maintains that failure to identify oneself does not constitute a violation of California Penal Code §148(a)(1), resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer:

Unlike Nevada and 20 other states, California does not have a statute mandating that a detainee identify himself, and that obligation cannot be read into Penal Code Section 148. (Rev. 1/08, p. 2.14a)”

*Even the ACLU says it’s best to give them your ID.*
