Turkey has made a decision to not only refuse to join the broad coalition against ISIS that President Obama promised Wednesday night is more than just a major slap in face for Obama and America. It also presents an obstacle to the success of the presidents promised degradation and destruction of the caliphate. As The Wall Street Journal notes:
Was it only a week ago that Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel listed a "core coalition" of 10 countries willing to join the U.S. effort to destroy the Islamic State? Since then Britain has categorically ruled out military strikes in Syria, while Germany has ruled out any use of force. Now Turkey is bugging out.
The Turkish abdication goes a step further than the Brits or Germans. Not only will Ankara take no military action, it will also forbid the U.S. from using the U.S. air base in Incirliklocated fewer than 100 miles from the Syrian borderto conduct air strikes against the terrorists. That will complicate the Pentagon's logistical and reconnaissance challenges, especially for a campaign that's supposed to take years.

If Erdogan gets his way, Hagia Sophia will reopen as a mosque, the Kemal Ataturk mausoleum will be closed to the public, and the next “peace flotilla” launched at Israel will have a Turkish Navy escort.

Agreed. It’s been a really unfortunate turn around for Turkey.
Mark bSteyn can make his point better than I can summarize it...about why Turkey is going more Islamo-fundie these days
Muslim Brotherhood was elected and in power in Egypt.
That was made possible by Obummer helping with removal of Mubarak.
If it was not for the courageous military leaders in Egypt, the Muslim extremists would still be in power.
The whole chaos started with Carter helping removal of Shah in Iran and GWB-43 invading Iraq.
So now we have spent Trillions in Iraq and lost hundreds of military personnel. Now more spending and bloodshed is coming with ISIS.
That is the point.
Cyprus is not a member of NATO. The pretext for the invasion in 1974 was that the Greek government (then a dictatorship) was about to annex Cyprus.
Well, if they're in boats, somebody with fighter jets.
