Despite domestic violence conviction, NFL star continues to play

Ray Rice won't play in the NFL on Sunday, but a player convicted of domestic violence will. Greg Hardy, a star defensive end for the Carolina Panthers, will start for his team against the Detroit Lions.

Rice, meanwhile, might never play again, since the NFL suspended him indefinitely after a video was posted online that showed him punching out his now-wife.

Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings also won't play Sunday. His team suspended him as legal authorities proceed with his case over allegations of child abuse in Texas.

Hardy will start Sunday even though he's been convicted of domestic violence in North Carolina. Authorities say he choked his then-girlfriend, threw her around, dragged her by her hair and threatened to kill her.

Hardy -- 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds -- says he is innocent, and he has appealed a guilty verdict rendered by a Mecklenburg County judge.

What’s the status of 49er fiancee beater Ray MacDonald? She was pregnant at the time of the beating. Shouldn’t he also have been charged with child endangerment?

Guess I would have been suspended back in the day for a little corrective corporal punishment then.

You beat me by 1 second. We need to measure these now in tenths of seconds.

LOL! The NFL is crumbling as we speak and they are trying every knee-jerk reaction to correct their previous cover ups.

Eventually, this is going to become a racial issue. The meme will be: Whites don’t understand black culture. Whites are taking the livelihoods from blacks. Domestic violence is a code word for racism.

Was Hillary Clinton throwing lamps at Bill considered “domestic violence”?

Despite criminal convictions many are still working in the government.

I thought the NFL could sideline these assholes for attracting bad press. So why don’t they?

Yep, the NFL is 75% black. They need a black commissioner and black owners.

I find it disturbing that the NFL is being led around on a leash by the media. Granted, it's partially because of their past policies and inconsistancies, but they should've taken the lead by now.

The Ray Rice case leaves me unfomfortable. He went through the courts and had court-approved counseling as the outcome. That should've been spelled out before the media feeding frenzy got out of control.

Bill Clinton violated a young intern, raped numerous others, and, he continues to play.

It was fine for the NFL when they had the media in their back pockets but now the media is having to actually do their jobs since TMZ has been breaking these stories and it’s not looking good for the NFL.
We have extortion plots, murders, thieves, child abusers, spouse abusers, etc. who have always been there but certain people in the organizations have covered it up and now the media just can’t anymore without looking culpable.

I'm wondering what the wives/girlfriends of these multimillionaire players are thinking. Becoming accustomed to that lifestyle is mighty easy, and the thought of going back to living like mere mortals is almost unfathomable.

I'll bet some cat fights are in the offing here. Not because the NFL wives think it's an occupational hazard they're willing to accept, but they will want the suspensions/contract ending publicity to stop. Find a way to deal with it ‘quietly’, so as to keep the gravy train running.

This behavior has been going on a long time, has it not? Why let the jealous, man-hating feminazi’s ruin the football wives’ lifestyle just to satisfy their agenda?

I could be wrong, but money - and lots of it - trumps principle, at least in today's America.
