Cruz displayed disappointing ignorance of his audience. Middle East Christians are being slaughtered. It might not be the best time to demand that they support Israel. The United States has done a great deal to aid in the survival of Israel, and virtually nothing to stop the persecution of these Christians. As much as I like Ted Cruz, had I been a member of that audience, my initial reaction would have been “F you, Ted, what have they ever done for us?”. That was not the time, not the place, to lecture about Israel.
So Israel is to blame for what the muslims do? How convenient. Why don’t we blame the Jews for Ferguson? Or the Boston Marathon bombing?
Cruz refused to hide from the elephant parading around the room...people calling themselves Christians and hating the Jews.
Speaking of disappointing ignorance, the story you are commenting on highlights the Christians who are supporting Cruz. You stand with the suicidal anti-Semitic Middle East Christians. Rand/Ron Paul is the candidate for people like you.
I respectfully disagree. While I agree it would have been correct to point out the ongoing slaughter of ME Christians, the Israelis are also really up against it.
Cruz should have discussed BOTH situations and stated that it’s really the same fight.
Noticing you did not post-note a sarc, thus you must be in agreement with liberal muslim supporting thinking.
Coming out of the DU closet make you feel better?
He was not lecturing about Israel. He was pointing out that Jews and Christians alike face constant threats from followers of Islam. Those in the audience who booed him were not there as Christians as much as they were anti-Jewish Arabs. Until their love of self and Christianity overcomes their anti-Semitic hatred of Israel they cannot be helped. He was right to go there and say what he said. He was also right to walk out over the reaction of some of the audience.
I won’t question your honesty about liking Ted Cruz, but this sure sounded like a troll piece.
“Cruz displayed disappointing ignorance of his audience.”
Nope. He knew exactly what was going to happen and did it on purpose. Much harder now to tar him with the usual “anti-Semite” B.S. they target Republicans with. Good for him, I say. Great press.
“F you, Ted, what have they ever done for us?.”
Well, I’ve personally gotten 17 Coptic Christians out of Egypt (all doctors or family of doctors) via Israel and then to the USA. They stayed at my house and I sponsored them for Visas, etc. Flew them myself and landed a plane in Eqypt, myself. Multiple trips in a Cessna 172, taking a round about route over ocean and places that could have blown me out of they sky at about 3 meters off the ground.
What have you done?
The time is always right to speak the truth and support your friends!!!
