A group of Middle Eastern Christians booed Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, off the stage after speaking in support of Israel at an event in Washington, D.C.
The event, sponsored by the group In Defense of Christians, was billed as a gathering of Middle Eastern Christian leaders.
They were trying to raise awareness about the threat to Arab minorities by the Islamic terrorists.
Cruz spoke about Christian solidarity with Israel and standing against terrorist groups like ISIS.
But some in the crowd were Palestinian Christian supporters of the Syrian government and even the terrorist group Hezbollah.
"Those who hate Israel hate America," Cruz began before being interrupted by jeering from the audience.

"My heart weeps that the men and women here will not stand in solidarity with Jews and Christians alike who are persecuted by radicals," he responded.
At one point, the moderator interrupted, saying, "Please, respect for dialogue. Respect. Please, we're in America."
Undeterred, Cruz said "If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you. Thank you and God bless you."
Cruz is pro-life. That by itself dooms him in terms of the Jewish vote.

Odd that Cruz didn’t realize in advance that a conference of Middle Eastern Christians —particularly Lebanese! — would dislike Israel. It seems pretty tasteless to in effect gatecrash the gathering with a speech about Israel, when the conference was not about Israel, a sovereign country with its own military and relative security, but rather about Christians facing genocide and expulsions in places like Iraq and Syria. This will likely hurt Cruz some with Eastern Christians, should he run for president.

However, how do you measure the value of intelligence they've given? How do you measure the value of their nation during the cold war when they were the only friend we had in the area?
So, will Obama ask them to participate in Gulf III?
He did realize it.
He went with the intention of establishing his identity as a supporter of both Christianity and Judaism.
Why do you think that these attendees, safe in America, couldn’t be open-minded enough to politely let a guy finish a speech?
I think they still have a gut fear that the islamofascists will kill their family members left behind. In that sense, Cruz did them the favor of an opportunity to obfuscate with their enemies.
So, the final analysis is that Cruz helped both himself and them.
Those christians live in the palestinian territory. If they are seen as supporting Israel that would be a death sentence.

Israel has sent zero IDF to fight in our wars. If US citizens choose to serve in the IDF, that’s their business and in any case doesn’t count as service to the US.
I suspect some of the intelligence Israel provides us is of negative worth, since Netanyahu is plainly trying to convince us to go to war with Iran, so that Israel doesn’t have to take the losses.

Disagree. Cruz came off as one who doesn’t much mind seeing Middle Eastern Christians butchered if they fail to pay tribute to his precious Israel.

Possible, and if so, I disagree with 0bama on that. I have no problem with Israel attacking Iran. They can pay the cost in blood, however. At the same time, I don’t appreciate Netanyahu’s crude attempts to sucker us into a war with Iran.
I don’t think it’s a sucker act to destroy Iran’s capacity to get a nuke. I think it’s a huge security issue for the USA. We should be trying to do that on our own without any urging from anyone. If Bibi is trying to get us to take out Iran’s nuke, then he’s doing us a favor.
