In his prime-time speech to the nation on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Obama vowed to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State insurgency in Iraq and Syria with airstrikes and 475 U.S. boots on the ground – but he also made a particular point of declaring that the Islamic State terrorists “are not Islamic.”
“Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic,” Obama said, speaking from the state floor of the White House residence. “No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.”
He added, “And ISIL is certainly not a state. It was formerly al-Qaida’s affiliate in Iraq, and has taken advantage of sectarian strife and Syria’s civil war to gain territory on both sides of the Iraq-Syrian border. It is recognized by no government, nor the people it subjugates. ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way.”
Obama said the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, poses a threat to Iraq, Syria and the broader Middle East – including American citizens, personnel and facilities.

Obama would never confess that “ACA” is Hussien’s UNaffordable Care act (HUAC).
Saying that ISIL is not Islamic is like saying Obama is not an Idiot.
The single statement “is not Islamic” to my thinking voided everything else. He provided cover for all Muslims supporting, financing and facilitating IS.* but not engaging directly in combat.

They were more angry at Reagan than at the Communists. Just as they supported the "insurgents" against our troops while Boosh was president.
Lumpy Riefenstahl has publicly expressed disappointment in President Obama. Never have heard him condemn his "freedom fighters" in Iraq for committing horrific atrocities.
He’s ONE OF THEM! What did anyone expect him to say?? He WANT’S to say “There will only be peace when America is Islamic. We must submit and convert to Islam.” But he can’t say that -yet- we are too well armed; and it visibly pains him not to show his hand. ISIS/ISIL is EVIL and saying it’s not Islamic is like saying the S.S. had nothing to do with Nazism. The whole world is laughing- it knows this is Islam, the terrorists SAY it is Islam, but Western cowards/collaborators will insist it isn’t while the heads roll and Allah Ackbar is screamed in our streets.

Obama has his own unique perspective on who the enemy is and what America is AND he expects the rest of us to look at it the same way...Sorry ‘bro but it doesn’t work that way.

Good point. This is the President who ordered that Osama Bin Laden be given a proper Muslim burial with all the actions needed to get him put away properly. Osama was personally responsible for far more murders than any individual member of ISIS.

So the resident again lectures the world on what real islam is and isn’t. If they are not islamic, that would mean they are threatening the existence of the “real” islamists in the region. Yet we see no action, condemnation or efforts to undermine ISIL from the so-called real islamic nations, who claim to be moderate and US allies. One can only conclude that there is silent approval from their side, and we are once again left with the task to carefully stop brutal murdering terrorists that the so-called real islamists won’t touch.
