House GOP Setting the Stage for Massive Crony Capitalist Pay Backs (Why bother with the GOP?)

House GOP Setting the Stage for Massive Crony Capitalist Pay Backs in a Lame Duck

House Republicans are preparing a continuing resolution to keep the government open. In doing so, they’ve decided to be total sluts for K Street and Wall Street. The Crony Capitalists, emboldened by the Chamber of Commerce’s help during primary season, are doing some very unusual things.

Here’s what I hear is happening.

First, they will reauthorize the Ex-Im bank, which is something K Street is desperate to see happen.

Second, current reports are that they will spend more than the original Paul Ryan — Patti Murray deal that had included a tax hike. However, that is subject to change.

Third, and probably most significantly, they will make sure the continuing resolution expires after the election, but before January. That will free them up to go back for a lame duck session where outgoing members can use their votes to pass amnesty, tax increases, and further extend the Ex-Im bank.

Essentially, just as the Democrats used retiring members of Congress to pass Obamacare since they no longer had to worry about being accountable to voters, Republicans are going to use their members on the other side of an election and no longer accountable to voters to increase federal spending, collaborate on amnesty, and prepare a grab bag of pork fill requests for K Street.

Get ready. It’s coming.

And you’re going to whip the democrats into shape?

No one can. Not by any civil means within the system they have helped to corrupt for themselves. So letting the nazi party consolidate power even further helps put conservatives in power how?

Excuse you? The GOP leadership HELPED the 'nazi' party consolidate it's power while vowing to "Crush" Conservatives "Everywhere".

Republican Frank Wolf just this week introduced a bill that would in essence, give the Executive "dictatorial power to wage war" by surrendering the Constitutional duty of Congress to declare war; repealing the 1972 War Powers Act. This will effectively take Congress out of the equation of declaring war as long as the Executive Branch says it’s against terrorism.

THAT the kind of 'consolidation of power' being handed to the Obama regime by the GOP itself. Kinda like wanting to hand Obama a "Blank check" so the government never shuts down again. Those kinds of 'consolidations of power' you conveniently ignore.

Obama and his party could not have achieved what they have without aid and comfort from the Republican leadership and party.

“This article is about the GOP House Majority hiding additional
crony benefits during a lame duck session of congress in the CR”

Then pitchforks and torches to the leaders for doing it. But don’t stay home during the next election.

What I see being proposed is a plan for making sure the GOP loses and nothing on how conservatives will win. MOVEON couldn’t come up with a better plan.

Its like saying if we just let Hitler win one more time, the people are sure to vote for Bibi next time.

Sure there are some candidates out there I wouldn’t vote for if you paid me but they’re in liberal states and aren’t likely to win anyway.

Maybe it’s time for Conservatives to consider the Constitution Party and let the GOP die since it’s wellbeing on committing suicide.

We need to keep the R’s we elect accountable; and let them know we expect them to uphold the principles of limited government and personal and economic freedom. If they don’t comply; then we get out the pitchforks and torches.

Good luck with that.

We sent the GOP packing in 2006 for refusing to be held accountable and acting like Democrats. We brought out the pitchforks and torches in 2010 - and what does McConnell do? Declares WAR on Conservatives!!

Sorry, you are 20 years too late.

It shows they don’t expect to have enough RINO votes in the House after the election.

This House election could be VERY good for conservatives.
Don’t want to count chickens before ... etc. But likely RINO losses and conservative wins are worrying the GOPE and that’s good news.

Work for a conservative House and you will be rewarded.

And how exactly do you punish outgoing members of the GOP, who
don’t care what we think because they can vote with leadership
with no accountability because they either retired or got fired.

Its like saying if we just let Hitler win one more time, the people are sure to vote for Bibi next time.

That is such a bogus and fallacious argument.

The GOP had total control of the government during Bush II's Administration, from the Executive to BOTH houses of Congress.

What did they do?

The same damn thing that Erickson reports they plan to do in a Lame Duck session… ACT LIKE CORRUPT DEMOCRATS.

The Ruling Class are the enemy of both the Constitution and our liberties - it makes no difference what letter they have after their name. They are FOR a Central Planning Government and a near-dictatorial Executive.

Fixing the problem is going to have to come from OUTSIDE the corrupted systems and from OUTSIDE of the cesspool that is Washington D.C.

Voting for more Republicans - is NOT the answer. This report is showing us how they intend to govern if we are dumb enough to put our trust in them and hand them leadership once again.

“And how exactly do you punish outgoing members of the GOP”

Put them in stocks?! Works for me! No; good question. The whole system is entirely broken. Conservatives have jobs and are busy; seems like we spend less time agitating for change than we should than do the radical left.

Reagan was the last one to truly shrink government. Palin I think could do it.

No money to the RNC, leave it for the candidates that mirror your views. If there aren’t any, then so be it.

With great respect mrsmith, it was not that long ago the GOP held all three
branches of Government. And what did that get us? The largest spending
spree in US history at the time.
I believe you are right about why they are doing it, but the fact the leadership
is doing it should be of great concern to you. Unless you are thinking house
leadership will change with the new congress, it appears nothing has change or will change. It is not encouraging leadership from the GOP.

When there aren’t any - (like this November in my state) - we write in Conservatives.

Imagine what happens to a young conservative in his first term, when a wise old eminence grise sits him down and has The Talk with him. The one that goes something like this:

"Look, son - I know you want to do right by your constituents and you think we are all a bunch of sellouts up here. But you have to understand how laws really get made. It takes a lot of money. It takes lot of support from a whole lot of people I don't like any better than you do. It takes help from the other side - and some of them do get it. They aren't all Communists over there. What I'm trying to say is that to get some of what you want, to help your voters out even a little bit, you've got to follow the process. And sometimes, that means voting for bills you don't like much at all - but some of what you want is in there and at the end of the day you've moved the ball a little closer to our goal line. Now I'm here to help you in any way I can, but you have to pay some attention to the leadership and to party discipline - or none of us will get any of what we want. Come on - I'll buy you lunch and we can talk some more about how it all works."

After the initial outrage wears off, even the staunchest conservative starts to realize that the old man just might be right. Getting a little bit of something positive done is a whole lot better than getting nothing at all. And it's a lot easier than fighting the whole party establishment, who are not paying attention to him, anyway. And thus, bit by bit, a new RINO is slowly born.

Aside from strict term limits it's hard to see any fix for this problem.

Here in California we get Democrats against Democrats as well. But we gave so many with their hands out through the dole, EBT or government employment that you can’t get honest votes out of the people here.

I really and truly hope that the American people are not stupid enough to vote for ANY Democrats in 2014!

Yes. We are watching Rand Paul succumb to the very thing you describe.

Very disappointed.

The majority of them won't have to.

Democrats are forcing Republicans to move to the Left and defend liberal policies. Already you have Tom Cotton accepting the premise of the minimum-wage debate, which will only discourage the base and the LIV will vote for the Dem anyway.

The Republicans are not going to win because they are not offering any bold choices in policy like they did 20 years ago.

I just look at how far my state (MI) has come with a lot of RINOs in power. Sure I’d like to kick many of them in the ass about half the time but then I realize that those same RINOs forced RTW into law partly because we demanded it and partly in retaliation to the democrats attempt to give unions final say over the state constitution.

Better to have power and force change than to be out of power and watch things get worse by the day.

Some folks just derive their greatest joy in life from misery and those people are utterly useless.
