WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is preparing to carry out a campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria that may take three years to complete, requiring a sustained effort that could last until after President Obama has left office, according to senior administration officials.
The first phase, an air campaign with nearly 145 airstrikes in the past month, is already underway to protect ethnic and religious minorities and American diplomatic, intelligence and military personnel, and their facilities, as well as to begin rolling back ISIS gains in northern and western Iraq.
The next phase, which would begin sometime after Iraq forms a more inclusive government, scheduled this week, is expected to involve an intensified effort to train, advise or equip the Iraqi military, Kurdish fighters and possibly members of Sunni tribes. The final, toughest and most politically controversial phase of the operation — destroying the terrorist army in its sanctuary inside Syria — might not be completed until the next administration. Assad brought this upon Syria and himself. During the Iraq war, Assad provided safe haven to Saddam dead enders and allowed Syria to be used as a staging ground for international Jihadi, most of whom were psychopathic , homicidal misfits and losers, from all over the world to assemble and infiltrate into Iraq.
Once the US kicked them out of Iraq, they retreated ti Syria and decided that if they could not take over Iraq, they would settle for Syria.

What a load! Take out the SAMs, then strafe and bomb the hell out of every column on the roads and gatherings of groups of ISIS. ....Desert Storm showed how to do it, and there are not hundreds of tanks to deal with in this case.
I know... That sounds simplistic, but Obama is a stupid ass for saying it will take 3 years! All he has to do is start putting some serious firepower on ISIS concentrations and PERHAPS some other countries might actually believe it’s worth joining the effort. ....Three years is laughable!

Encircle the whole lot and squeeze till all their skulls pop like the puss filled abscesses they are. Shouldn’t take more than a month or two at most.
I would think taking out ISIS and ISIL could be a great use for Special Forces. Some of those leaders could just shuffle off their mortal coils in the dead of night, and no one would know until their minions came to get them for morning prayers, and they were in their beds, with their throats cut.
