For American medical personnel to volunteer in West Africa is one thing, but it is unacceptable to expect US military to fight an unseen enemy.
If the CIC is so concerned about saving lives in Africa, let him volunteer to help — after all, his roots are there.
I once again find myself hoping that Obama is merely oblivious to reality (a common hope that seems unsupported by the grim reality). It’s disappointing that (at best) Obama is clueless to the fact that our military has almost no training for that mission.

IMO this verifies the man’s hatred for our military. I hope somebody stops him from acting on such stupidity as to put our military in such a position to be wiped out by that Ebola virus.
IF Doctors want to risk their lives to help fight the virus in Africa, then let them, but don’t even think about commanding our military to fight a disease. They are trained to fight the enemies of our homeland armed with guns, and other traditional mechanisms of war. Doctors, nurses, etc. should volunteer IF THEY WISH TO TAKE THE RISK. Otherwise isolate that Nation, that area until their isn’t anymore risk of spread of that disease, or whatever it is.
My heart goes out to those people, but we can’t allow the rest of the World to perish when we can attempt to isolate the disease to a specific place on the face of the planet.

Surely sending our finest fighting men into an African cesspool to
quarantine the disease will cause many of them to contract it and die.

Just shut down travel in and out of those countries and send the bombs down on those idiots in Iraq and Syria killing tens of thousands.
