Romney: 'My time has come and gone'

Fomer Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney argued Sunday that he'd make a better president than Hillary Clinton -- but that he's not planning to mount a third bid for the White House.

"No question about that in my mind," he said on "Fox News Sunday" when asked by host Chris Wallace whether he'd be a better leader than Clinton.

Prodded by Wallace, Romney insisted he has no plans to run but stopped short of a Shermanesque refusal.

"I’m not running, I’m not planning on running," he said.

Romney said that while he also would've made a better president than Barack Obama, "My time has come and gone. I had that opportunity. I ran and didn’t win."

Romney made waves last month when he told a radio interviewer that while he's not interested in running, "circumstances can change."

It’s largely acknowledged that Mitt won the first debate and intentionally took a nosedive when he had Obama on the ropes during the second debate. The RINOs and GOPe have lost interest in leading.

Get real. I voted for both Romney and McCain. Both looked like they were trying to lose.

Maybe we can get John Kerry to run as a Republican. You guys love GOP liberals so he’d be everything you’re looking for.

At least Hillary and her friends understand that this country must survive if they are to continue to live the good life.Barry wants to see the whole world burn.

I don’t believe him for a second. To get over his loser image he has to say this and I think he is waiting for people to beg him to run. He needs to be drafted this time to save face.

I’m glad Nixon didn’t take that defeatist attitude after loosing to J F’n K in 1960.
His crimes were minor, and no one died as a result.
Compare that to the fraud in the white hut now.

The only reason Romney ran was to block a conservative from getting the GOP nomination.

That’s why he mailed it in during the General campaign.

Agreed. With his business acumen he should propose a pro-growth, pro-job agenda for the country and go across the land to promote it and influence lawmakers and business leaders. Instead, he wants to put all his efforts into putting another RINO and the establishment back into the White House. Back away from the political scene Mitt and do a real service for America by using your business skills to get the country moving again.

Yeah, the media was very low-key about the 40th anniversary of Watergate this past August. Maybe because deep down they know what’s going on now is far worse that Watergate ever was.

Romney’s time came and went long ago, and I’m glad he recognizes it. He is right though - he would have been far better in our White House than the anti-American socialist we’re stuck with today.

Not sure that I agree about Hillary being better than Obama. She’s a bull in a china shop. “Oh ISIL is no threat to America”, “I can’t worry about every undercapitalized business”, “there’s no money here” (upon arriving at a podunk town for a campaign stop, “the video”, “I just want to run something”, “we’re going to take that from you” (speaking of money she thought the government should grab from citizens) and on and one and on. Where Obama fails by inaction, she will fail by wrong action inspired by wrong motives.

She would be a total disaster. It would be move to Panama time.

They are still obsessed with the fact that Romney was not they're idea of the perfect nominee. Disobeying President Reagan's Eleventh Commandment got us where we are today.

If by “perfect” you mean “not a liberal” then yes, we want a “perfect candidate.”

If you really want to talk about Reagan’s 11th Commandment let’s discuss those Mississippi attack adds from Cornyn and Cochran calling conservatives “Racist.”

You don’t get to have it both ways.

We may be a bit hasty, here, Jack.

In the name of diversity,

Mitt, The Mormon Milquetoast
must, must I say offer himself once again.

Just as our nation seemed to need a disbarred gay Marxist African community organizer, perhaps a RINO socialist who wears strange testosterone-restricting underwear is just the ticket.

Of course, the main question is theological. Can a Mormon become a Martyr and take down a whole country with him ...again? Pope Frankie, Enquiring minds want to know.
