When Rachael Lloyd took up vaping, she thought she'd stumbled across a miracle alternative to smoking. Little did she know, her e-cigarette wasn't quite as guilt-free as she'd assumed - as the World Health Organisation is now starting to realise

Two days later I scurried to my doctor for a second opinion. She asked exactly how much vapour I was consuming per hour. Up to forty inhalations an hour on a particularly stressful day, I admitted. According to her, I was inhaling the equivalent of 40 fags a day at least in terms of nicotine. There was no doubt about it, I was a vape addict.

I suspect e-cigs are safer too, but only if you vape no more than you would smoke.
If you increase your vaping like the woman who wrote this article did, because you think they are safer, you could find that you are poisoning yourself at a much faster rate than you ever expected.
[ Correct.
Nicotine (well, its derivatives) are NECESSARY for life.
Ever hear of nicotinic acid? Well, the scientists call it niacin because when they realized it was needed by the body, they didnt want people to think nicotine was something good, so they called it niacin
Its political correctness all the way... ]
Ever buy actual Niacin, no the flush free variety but the REAL Old timey stuff, you can get it in health food stores...
After freezing your butt off outside in the winter take a tablet dose of it when you get inside and you will instantly feel warm. It is an intersting effect..
5 hour energy also has Niacin (the non flush type) in it as well.
Here in Kansas, we had a few ‘roll your own’ shops pop up. It was genius really - you walk up to a big machine, put loose tobacco and papers in it, press some buttons, and blamo, it spits out rolled cigarettes. And since you operated the machine...you ‘rolled your own’. Meaning no taxes.
It lasted about a year, before the helpful government shut it down.
Why? Fire safety. Apparently, one of the major tobacco makers has developed a paper that goes out, if you quit puffing. And, they have helpfully licensed their invention to all the cig makers. Next step - the FDA now requires these papers on any cig, other than a hand rolled one.
Presto - competition gone AND tax revenue back in place.
I feel the same way you do about smoking but I disagree that vaping is still just as nasty as smoking. Have you been around it?
It does not smell, it’s just water vapor coming out.
I think the crack down on vaping is because the government is scared of losing massive tax revenue.
It’s a scandal, because vaping would help millions of people improve their health.
While I don't smoke and will refuse to foot the health bills of the people who do, the entire concept of "second-hand smoke" is a myth made up by Communists who need an excuse to control our lives. These are the same Communists, mind you, who approve of giving the tobacco industry subsidies while simultaneously putting out anti-smoking PSAs (I guarantee you that nobody has actually quit smoking just because of a PSA). The government's policies make sense when you realize that it's all about controlling the population and establishing a reliable voting base; the purpose of the PSAs is to give jobs to the incompetent dregs of society.
Nicotine itself, as you probably know, is inpure form a remarkably deadly poison.
What health dangers?

NAILED IT!!!!
This problem affects a LOT of liberals, and it the whole argument of them not realizing that “False Sense of Security” is worse than being Insecure and knowing it...
Because once your guard is down one is more vulnerable...
As long as you don’t demand e-cigs get banned, I don’t think anyone minds being informed.
And, no I am not an e-cig vendor, addict, smoker, pot head or any sort of purist libertarian (although I do agree with the smallest reasonable amount of government).
Yep, it is all about the taxes.
And it is to easy to make your own brew to vap, so increasing taxes on the liquid won’t work as well.
I know a few people who have had bad side effects. Mostly from getting to much nicotine to fast. But for the majority, it has helped them stop smoking.
A company tried to build a coal power plant in western Kansas a few years ago (Sebelius blocked it).
As part of the campaign against it, we were treated to commercials showing pristine wilderness being destroyed by coal.
Who funded the commercials?
OneOK - a huge gas company from Oklahoma that supplies Kansas.
I was a 3 pack/day smoker and have been vaping for years. I am constantly vaping throughout the day.
On very rare occasions I will have a cigarette. That cigarette gives me quite a high. To get that high I must now be accustomed to a lower level of nicotine from the vaping.
I question the 40 cigs a day comparison.
Isn’t nicotine addictive?
Is that news?
George Michael for one.
Oh there are people who mind. Believe me. Just look at this thread so far.
I’m sorry...what is the health danger you are pointing out?
I have no complaint on you pointing out health dangers.I am all for people making informed decisions about their lives. Give them *facts* and let them do as they please.
Example, those who blame tobacco companies for current smokers are fools. There's no one under 60 smoking who didn't/doesn't know the health effects. So,they made a free choice. They choose not to believe the facts, that's their choice.
And everyone could be happy and gay.
That’s before the world went completely nuts.
I'm almost down to nothing since the Blues. No one, I repeat no one has ever complained about the Blues, even outside of restaurants. You cannot smell them, period. Anyone who says they can is having a psychosomatic response.
