Read: Proverbs 22:1-5
Visitors to a zoo were outraged when the African lion started barking instead of roaring. Zoo staff said they had disguised a Tibetan mastiffa very large dogas a lion because they could not afford the real thing. Needless to say, the zoos reputation was sullied and people will think twice before visiting it.
Reputation is fragile; once its damaged, its hard to restore. It is not uncommon to sacrifice a good reputation on the altar of power, prestige, or profit. This too could be our story. Scripture encourages us: A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches (Prov. 22:1). God is telling us that true value must be placed not in what we have but in who we are.
Ancient Greek philosopher Socrates said, The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear. As followers of Jesus, we bear His name. Because of His love for us, we strive to walk worthy of Him, reflecting His likeness in our words and deeds.
When we fail, He picks us up again by His love. By our example, others around us will be led to praise the God who has redeemed and transformed us (Matt. 5:16)for the name of the Lord is worthy of glory, honor, and all praise.
Hi Everybody!
((((HUGS)))
Not first tonight, because i was reading “The Hot Zone” and couldn’t put it down.
YIKES!
Good evening, Publius, and thank you for Rachmaninov’s “The Star Spangled Banner”.
Did you have a good day? Healing coming along well?
Healing just fine. I’ll see the surgeon in a few days so he can look at my scar.
Good lovin by the rascals.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends
Good evening, Janey...((HUGS))...did you catch your own dinner? Very cool.
Always remember them and what they sacrifice for us!
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
How’s your truck?
Remember them in Your Prayers.
Hi Ma, whoa it is cold outside. Hummers are gone now, headed South for the Winter.
If I could flap my arms fast enough I would join them, LOL.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...how was Wonderful Wednesday?
What does Linda-Dah think of you being back to work full-time plus?
I finally finished my homework about 2am this morning. Still barely got all the corrections done by 1pm today. Tonight I need some sleep.
I detect a little separation anxiety in Lynn-dah. She’s fine when i am away, but when i am home, she wants all my attention.
Alas...I would love to just stay home and play but SOMEONE has to work!
I had my WONDERFUL Wednesday student today, and her dedication never ceases to amaze me. This, and being in Pre-med in Her first year of High School.
She wants to be a veterinarian.
