Francois Hollande's former partner says that France's socialist president hates the poor, in her potentially explosive memoirs she penned after the collapse of their relationship earlier this year.
In Merci Pour Ce Moment ('Thank You For This Moment') Valérie Trierweiler claims that, in private, the leftist leader refers to the less wealthy with scorn, calling them "the toothless".
"He portrays himself as a man who does not like the rich. In reality, the president does not like the poor," Trierweiler wrote. "He, the man of the left, calls them 'the toothless', very proud of his humour."
In another passage leaked to French media ahead of the book' s publication, which is scheduled for tomorrow, the France's former first lady wrote that he expressed dislike for her working-class parents.

So do most (if not all) “progressives”.
Well I’m sure he likes their votes.
Les “sans dents” ne vous aiment pas aussi, cochon!

Well what do you know!!! That's what the elitist "lovers of the poor" over here say about us rednecks!
I wonder if poor Black French people would be treated differently as they are over here?
Maybe us po' white trash just need to have our own party called the Toothless Party. I'm sure no self-respecting "person of color," no matter how poor, wretched, or toothless, would want to join such a party when they so many friends among the wealthy elites of academia.
Nonsense, I know he likes them, he offers a champagne toast to them at breakfast every morning.
Stumbled on to an episode of honey boo boo perhaps?
Oddly enough, this “First Lady” was perfectly comfortable to live with the president of Holland while he was saying things like this. Now she can turn a buck, and of course she never felt that way herself.
I’m not a big fan of tell all books by former spouses. If we’re talking criminality, then perhaps.
It just wreaks of revenge and a payday.
You know, I’ve been known to make an intemperate remark once in a blue moon. It doesn’t mean that remark expressed my true overall outlook on the issue in question. It may have been one out of literally thousands of comments I had made on the subject, the rest being very reasoned.
None of us is perfect.
Now this guy may be a real jackass. I don’t know. This sort of thing doesn’t sit well with me.
If we’re talking Bill Clinton, and the revelation of criminality, then by all means out it.

PULL!!
I didn’t know that there are any poor in Europe. I thought that their social “safety net” reached from cradle to grave.
Every time that I talk over the phone with European relatives, all they can talk about is the vacation they just returned from and the vacation they are about to take.
Hollande is the president of France.
Correct, consider the source indeed.
A woman scorned, etc.
Not that she isn’t right, but one could have guessed that anyway.
Thank you for the correction.
Thanks buwaya.
Of course he hates the poor. Look how much worse the life of a “poor” person is in a socialist nation. How could anyone who didn’t hate his countrymen propose socialism.
“ the poor, I’ve said that forever! ‘We need help!’ ‘Yeah, we’ve heard!’”
Daniel Tosh...
Just sayin'...YMMV
Ah, but only after he dumped Segolene Royale...

Francois has been a very busy little boy... and the fact that the French press is covering it’s politician’s dalliances is quite at odds with their attitude during Clinton-Lewinsky. Or Francois Mitterand:

Hates the poor so much, he made many more of them
